JERSEY CITY, N.J. (Oct. 18, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's soccer team was less than eight minutes away from its eighth shutout of the season here Saturday, but New Jersey City University spoiled that bid.
The Gothic Knights scored with 7:46 remaining in the game to tie the Scarlet Raptors, 1-1, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game.
The draw leaves Rutgers-Camden with a 2-6-7 record overall, while NJCU is 8-5-2. Both teams have a 1-3-2 record in the conference.
It was the first tie in the series that dates back to 1999. Rutgers-Camden leads the series, 19-7-1.
The Scarlet Raptors took a lead in the 37th minute on the first career Rutgers-Camden goal by senior midfielder
Kylie Barber. It was her third overall career goal after scoring a pair of goals during her two seasons at Centenary University.
The Scarlet Raptors made that goal stand up until the 83rd minute, when sophomore back Aubrey Gulbin tallied the tying goal at 82:14. It was assisted by senior midfielder Gineth Arias Martinez.
NJCU held an 11-6 advantage in shots, but only a 4-3 edge in shots on goal. Both teams had two corner kicks.

Giselle Lizardi made three saves, while Gothic Knights senior goalie Sophia Mannino had two saves.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action on Wednesday when they entertain William Paterson University in a 7 p.m. NJAC game.
