Dinerman named NJAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Track Athlete of the Week
CAMDEN, N.J. (Dec. 15, 2025) – Rutgers University-Camden junior
Jacob Dinerman is picking up with indoor track season where he left off in cross country season during the fall, and that means a whole new set of honors and accomplishments.
Dinerman was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Track Athlete of the Week today after a record-breaking performance at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout. The meet was held on Friday, Dec. 12, at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island.
In his first indoor meet since completing his cross country season at the NCAA Div. III Championships on Nov. 22, Dinerman set the Rutgers-Camden record in the 3,000-meter run. He finished sixth out of 58 competitors in a time of 8:37.41, breaking the old mark of 8:38.73 by Alec Connelly, set on March 3, 2012, at the ECAC Championships.
Dinerman also ran on the Scarlet Raptors' 4x400 A Team, which placed ninth of 33 teams with a 3:25.70 clocking.
Dinerman's latest honor comes after a stellar cross country season in which he earned NJAC Second Team recognition, was named All-Metro Regional and became the first Scarlet Raptor to compete in the NCAA Div. III Cross Country Championships since Alec Connelly in 2011. Along the way, he set the program record for an 8K race with a time of 24:43.4, when he finished fourth out of 181 runners at the NCAA Metro Regional.
Dinerman, who holds five of the top seven 8K times in Rutgers-Camden history, was named the NJAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week on both Sept. 8 and Sept. 22, 2025.
In addition to holding the Rutgers-Camden 8K cross country record and setting the program's indoor mark at 3,000 meters, Dinerman set the school indoor record in the mile (4:10.92) last season.
In his first year on campus during the 2024-25 scholastic year, Dinerman became the first athlete in Rutgers-Camden history to earn NJAC First Team recognition during all three seasons, in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track.
Dinerman capped his brilliant cross country season with another prestigious honor, as he was named the Philly-SIDA Men's Cross Country Academic All-Area Performer of the Year. That award is determined by a vote from the sports information offices at the 30 colleges and universities in the Philadelphia area.
A Liberal Studies major who carries a 4.0 GPA, Dinerman is a 2025 USTFCCCA Div. III Track & Field All-Academic Athlete. The Dean's List student has been a member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director's Honor Roll during both of his semesters on campus.
