			CAMDEN, N.J. (May 22, 2025) – Juniors
Jacob Dinerman (Haddon Township, NJ/Haddon Township) and
Walter Pierce (East Orange, NJ/St. Benedict's Prep) both had stellar seasons for the Rutgers University-Camden outdoor track program and both added another post-season honor today.

When the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its Division III Outdoor All-Region performers, both Dinerman and Pierce were among the honorees. The organization recognizes the top five individuals in each event from each region, along with members of the top three relay teams in each region. Dinerman earned All-Region honors in both the 800- and 1,500-meter runs, while Pierce was All-Region in the decathlon.

The two Rutgers-Camden stars were both recognized on the All-New Jersey Athletic Conference teams earlier this month after their performances at the NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Dinerman captured NJAC First Team honors in the 1,500-meter run and NJAC Second Team recognition at 800 meters. Pierce won NJAC Second Team honors for the decathlon.

Dinerman won the conference title at 1,500 meters, finishing first of 20 athletes in a time of 3:55.46. He placed second of 28 athletes at 800 meters with a PR time of 1:53.95. His top times during the year, however, came in different meets. On March 29 at the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener University, he ran 1,500 meters in 3:52.82 to finish first in a field of 116 runners. At Widener's Last Chance meet on May 12, he placed 11th of 83 at 800 meters in a time of 1:51.91.

Pierce set a program record in the decathlon at the NJAC meet, rolling up 5,217 points to finish second out of seven athletes. He broke his own program record of 4,784 points, set at the 2024 NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Dinerman's banner year started during the fall season when he captured NJAC First Team honors in cross country, finishing sixth of 89 runners at the conference championships. He also placed 21st of 186 runners at the NCAA Metro Regionals.

During the winter track season, Dinerman set a Rutgers-Camden program record in the mile run (4:10.92) on Feb. 7 at the FastTrack National Invitational. He earned All-NJAC First Team honors at the conference meet by winning the championship in the mile run (4:11.39) in an 18-man field, while also earning NJAC Second Team recognition at 3,000 meters. He finished second out of 15 athletes at 3,000 meters in a PR time of 8:41.01. He added NJAC First and Second Team honors at the Outdoor Track & Field Championships while becoming the first Rutgers-Camden athlete to capture a NJAC First Team honor in all three seasons during one scholastic year.

A Liberal Studies major, Dinerman is a Dean's List student and a member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director's Honor Roll, where he was one of only 23 athletes on the 167-member 2024 Fall AD Honor Roll to earn a 4.0 GPA.

A multi-talented athlete who has competed in numerous track events, Pierce holds indoor track program records in the pentathlon (2,654 points) and the heptathlon (3,897 points), while also helping to set a unique record at the Collegeville Classic in the Mixed 4x400 relay (4:05.02). He also broke his own program decathlon record during the NJAC outdoor meet.

During his record-breaking decathlon at the NJAC meet, Pierce finished first of the seven competitors in the 400-meter dash (a PR of 52.31), second in the 100-meter dash (a PR of 11.31) and the shot put (a PR of 11.21 meters), third in the discus (a PR of 27.73 meters), third in the pole vault (a PR of 3.05 meters), third in the javelin (a PR of 29.61 meters) and third in both the 110 hurdles (16.99) and the 1,500-meter run (5:19.64).

Pierce also finished fourth in the high jump (1.62 meters) and fifth in the long jump (a PR of 5.70 meters).

In addition to his exploits with the indoor and outdoor track teams, Pierce also competed for two semesters with the Rutgers-Camden golf program and was a member of the 2023 cross country team.

A transfer from New Jersey City University where he was a golf and track athlete as a freshman, Pierce is a Sports Management major at Rutgers-Camden.
