Raptors' Campos named to Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Golf Team
CAMDEN, N.J. (June 2, 2025) – Rutgers University-Camden senior
Gloria Campos (Merchantville, NJ/Oakcrest) has been named as a member of the 2024-25 Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Men's Golf Team.
Campos, the lone female member of the Rutgers-Camden men's golf program, has been a member of the Scarlet Raptors' program for two years, participating in four invitationals over that time as an individual or a member of the Scarlet Raptors' B Team.
An outstanding student and campus leader as well, Campos also has captured numerous academic honors over her Rutgers-Camden career, including honors as the lone female on the eight-member 2024-25 Philly-SIDA (Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-Area Men's Golf Team. The team is voted on by the sports information offices of 30 institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
Campos becomes the sixth Rutgers-Camden golfer to earn a berth on the Academic All-Area teams since the program started in the fall of 2005. Dan Drazen earned the honor twice in back-to-back years (2009-10 and 2020-11), while Quentin Griffith IV (2012-13), Scott Potter (2014-15) and Patrick DeMareo (2022-23) also earned berths on the Academic All-Area Men's Golf Team.
Campos, a Political Science major with a 4.0 GPA, has served as a member of Rutgers-Camden's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) during her time with the golf program. She was named a United East Conference Scholar Athlete for the 2023-24 scholastic year and should be on the team again this year when the United East releases its 2024-25 Scholar Athletes in the next few weeks.
A multi-time Dean's List student and member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director's Honor Roll, she has posted perfect 4.0 semesters every semester.
Campos plans to work in the judicial field.
