Jacob Dinerman is starting his junior season the way he left off his spectacular sophomore campaign, while Scarlet Raptor goalkeeper
Giselle Lizardi is quickly making a name for herself as a collegiate freshman.
Both players were honored today for their stellar performances when the New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its weekly performers of the week. Dinerman earned the Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, while Lizardi was named the Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week.
Dinerman, who earned three All-NJAC First Team honors last year over the cross country, indoor track and outdoor track seasons, captured today's weekly honor after finishing second out of 93 runners in the season-opening Back to the Bowl Invitational on Saturday. He posted a time of 16:06.30 in the 5K race to finish a step behind the winning runner from Wagner (16:05.90).
During his first year at Rutgers-Camden (2024-25), Dinerman was named the NJAC Cross Country Runner of the Week on Sept. 9 and was a five-time Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week, including on Oct. 7 and Nov. 4 for cross country.
Lizardi has posted 0-0 shutouts in her first two collegiate games, holding both McDaniel College and Swarthmore College scoreless in road contests. In her only game last week, she made 13 saves as Swarthmore outshot Rutgers-Camden, 33-5. Her 13 saves tied for the 12th-highest single-game mark in program history. Her 33 shots faced tied for the eighth-highest single-game mark in Rutgers-Camden history.
A former star at Brick Memorial High School, Lizardi's first start, a three-save shutout at McDaniel, earned her Rutgers-Camden's first Raptor of the Week honor this season on Sept. 2.
