Driggins ties program mark at Collegeville Classic
COLLEGEVILLE, Penn. (Jan. 18, 2026) – Freshman
Jamir Driggins tied the Rutgers University-Camden men's indoor track program record in the 60-meter hurdles and was one of three first-place finishers as the Scarlet Raptors competed here Sunday in the Collegeville Classic, hosted by Ursinus College.
Driggins finished first of seven athletes in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.69 after qualifying for the finals by finishing fourth of 10 athletes in an 8.97 clocking. His winning time in the final tied the program record set by Dylan Feldman on Feb. 23, 2016, at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships.
The Raptor men also saw freshman
Willyam Dupreville finish first out of 11 athletes in the long jump (5.96 M), while the women saw sophomore-eligible
Deleon Benjamin place first of five athletes in the 400-meter dash (1:08.38).
Benjamin had a stellar all-around meet as she also finished eighth of 16 to qualify for the 60-meter finals in a time of 8.74 and finished eighth in the finals with an 8.70 clocking. She also placed sixth of 14 at 200 meters (30.93).
Freshman
Sofia Tabet finished ninth of 16 in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash (8.86), was fifth of 14 in the 200-meter dash (30.23) and fourth of five in the 400-meter dash (1:11.93).
On the men's side, freshman
Eric Lei finished fifth of 22 in the 200-meter dash (24.67) and qualified for the 60-meter finals by finishing fifth of 35 (7.32) before placing seventh of eight in the final (7.33).
Freshman
Jonathan Hines finished fourth of 11 in the long jump (5.47 M0 and fifth of 11 in the 400-meter dash (58.27).
Freshman
David Machado placed sixth of 22 in the 200-meter dash (24.79) and 13th of 35 in the 60-meter dash preliminaries (7.52).
Senior
Walter Pierce qualified for the 60-meter hurdles finals (6th of 10, 9.46) before finishing seventh in the final, placed second of 11 in the long jump (5.57 meters), was fourth of 18 in the shot put (10.29 meters) and third of four in the pole vault (3.20 meters).
Freshman
Jack Wessner finished eighth of 17 at 3,000 meters (10:07.84).
Rutgers-Camden will compete in the Widener Evening Invite next weekend.
