Dinerman earns 800-meter win at Danny Curran Invitational

CHESTER, Penn. (March 28, 2026) – The Rutgers University-Camden outdoor track team completed its second meet of the season here Saturday when it traveled to Widener University for the final day of the Danny Curran Invitational.
 
Junior Jacob Dinerman finished first in a field of 153 runners in the men's 800-meter run in a time of 1:52.80. Freshman Joseph Simone competed in a pair of events, finishing 110th at 800 meters (2:10.37). He also placed 92nd of 131 in the 400-meter dash (55:26), an event that featured sophomore Kristopher Ewell as the Raptors' top runner, finishing in 38th place (51.43).
 
Freshman Talia Thomasson and senior Jamir Driggins competed in a pair of hurdle events, with Thomasson placing 22nd of 38 in the women's 100 hurdles (17.64) and 15th of 32 in the 400 hurdles (1:12.42). Driggins finished 14th of 39 athletes in the men's 110 hurdles (16.16) and 50th of 55 in the 400 hurdles (1:04.65).
 
A quartet of Raptor women competed in a pair of sprint events, including junior Sydnie Marshall, who finished 54th of 126 in the 200-meter dash (27.66) and 37th of 81 at 400 meters (1:03.59). Freshman Sofia Tabet finished 96th at 200 meters (29.24) and 69th at 400 meters (1:09.80), while junior Maggie Meite was 119th at 200 meters (31.94) and 78th at 400 meters (1:21.49). In the women's 100-meter dash, freshman Shania Bernard paced the Raptors, finishing 72nd of 94 (14.47), while she finished 106th at 200 meters (29.96).
 
In field events, junior Dyheim Watson finished 16th of 32 in the men's hammer (46.87 meters), while senior Kayla Franklin placed 20th of 30 athletes in the women's javelin (27.52 meters). Freshman Justin Harms finished 36th of 53 in the men's long jump (5.69 meters).
 
The Scarlet Raptors return to action on Friday when they travel to Stockton University for the first day of the two-day Osprey Open. Friday's events will include the hammer throw, javelin, triple jump, steeplechase, the 4x800 and the 10K run.
