Raptors compete on first day of Osprey Open

GALLOWAY, N.J. (April 3, 2026) – The Rutgers University-Camden outdoor track and field team opened its competition on the first day of the Osprey Open here Friday at Stockton University with several of the field athletes performing in various events.
 
In the men's hammer throw, junior Dyheim Watson finished second of 20 athletes (44.91 meters), while freshman Muhammad Elijah Samad-Muhammad finished 13th (27.12 meters) and sophomore Emmanuel Richardson placed 17th (24.98 meters).
 
In the women's hammer, freshman Asha Pensa Johnson finished 14th of 23 athletes (24.57 meters).
 
In the men's javelin, junior Aaron Le led the Raptors with a throw of 41.33 meters to finish 10th of 34 athletes. Freshman Justin Harms placed 18th (37.34 meters) and freshman Michael Hawkins placed 25th (32.67 meters). Harms also finished ninth of nine in the men's triple jump (11.15 meters).
 
In the women's javelin, senior Kayla Franklin placed fourth of 17 athletes (32.59 meters).
 
The Scarlet Raptors will compete on Saturday during the second day of the Osprey Open.
