After joining the Rutgers-Camden women’s crew program for the fall semester, Samantha Sandridge will play a big role with the Scarlet Raptors’ softball program this spring. A versatile player who also is a switch-hitter, she can catch, pitch and play the outfield.

Crew 2014: Earned first collegiate letter as a member of the women’s crew team during the fall semester…Rowed port in both the Raptors’ 4 and 8 boats.

High School: Four-year softball letterwinner for Coach Kevin Parr at Friendswood High School…Named the team’s Offensive Player of the Year as a senior in 2013…National Merit Scholar in 2010.

Personal: Born May 13, 1996…Nicknamed “Sam”… Loves cooking…Superstitions include not stepping on the foul line and kissing the ball if it drops in the pitching circle…Business Management major at Rutgers-Camden…Spanish minor…Plans to attend culinary school…Samantha is the daughter of Susan and Jeff Sandridge of Friendswood, Texas.
