Rutgers-Camden Athletics

Kelly Barbone made a triumphant return to collegiate soccer in 2014 after missing two full seasons with injuries in 2012 and 2013.
 
An all-conference honoree during her freshman year in 2011, she returns for her final season with the Scarlet Raptors this fall. She has started all 33 of her collegiate games – every contest the Raptors have played in her two seasons.
 
Soccer 2014: Started all 18 of the Scarlet Raptors’ games…Took five shots, three on goal…Played the entire 110 minutes in a 0-0 double-overtime tie against Washington College (Sept. 17)…Played the full 90 minutes in seven games and logged over 80 minutes in 11 of her 18 games…Helped anchor a defense which posted seven shutouts and a 1.52 goals-against average…Earned New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention.
 
Soccer 2011: One of only six players to start all 15 Scarlet Raptor games…Took two shots…Helped Rutgers-Camden post two shutouts and hold opponents to two or fewer goals in nine of its 15 games…Earned NJAC Honorable Mention…Made collegiate debut in a 0-0 tie against Salisbury University (Sept. 1)…Also helped Rutgers-Camden post back-to-back NJAC wins against Rutgers-Newark (3-2, Oct. 19) and Ramapo College (2-0, Oct. 22)…Took her lone shots against Rutgers-Newark (Nov. 19) and New Jersey City University (Nov. 26).
 
High School: Four-year soccer letterwinner at Highland Regional High School…Three-year Tri-County Conference Royal Division honoree, notching Second Team honors as a junior (2009) and sophomore (2008) and Honorable Mention during her senior season in 2010…Added All-Group 3 First Team honors from the Courier-Post newspaper during her junior season…Honor Roll student.
 
Personal: Born September 13, 1993…Played club soccer for the Atlantic United Airstorm…Twin sister Michelle also lettered with the Scarlet Raptors’ soccer program…Psychology major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to attend graduate school…Dean’s List student…Kelly is the daughter of Theresa and Carmen Barbone of Blackwood.
