Biography

Zach Arsenault closes out his brief Rutgers-Camden career this spring, but the senior transfer student already has accomplished plenty during his three semesters with the Scarlet Raptors’ golf program. After transferring from Alvernia University for the 2015-16 season, Arsenault averaged 75.7 in 13 rounds, captured North Eastern Athletic Conference First Team honors and helped the Scarlet Raptors win their fourth consecutive NEAC crown, earning another trip to the NCAA Division III Golf Championships.
Arsenault raised the bar last fall, posting the Raptors’ best average of the semester (72.6 in his eight rounds), tying the program record for the best round (67), earning ECAC Division III Golfer of the Month for October, capturing a pair of NEAC Golfer of the Week honors and earning a berth on the All-Tournament First Team at the ECAC Div. III Mid-Atlantic Championships.
In 21 career rounds at Rutgers-Camden, the Raptors' team co-captain owns a 74.4 average.
Fall 2016: Led all Scarlet Raptors with a 72.6 average over eight rounds…Led the team in three of its seven invitationals, while finishing among the field’s top six golfers on every occasion…Tied the Raptors’ program record with a round of 67 to earn individual medalist honors out of a 34-man field at the Eastern Invitational (Oct. 19)…The round earned him Co-Raptor of the Week honors on Oct. 24, sharing with teammate Kevin Sarlo, who had set the record two days earlier…Earned NEAC Golfer of the Week on Sept. 20 and Oct. 4…Named the ECAC Division III Golfer of the Month for October after averaging 72.3 in six rounds during the month…Opened the season leading the Raptors and finishing second overall of 64 with a 73 at the Moravian Invitational (Sept. 12)…Placed second on the team and tied for sixth of 52 at the Ursinus Invitational (Sept. 27), carding a 74…At the two-day ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Championships (Oct. 1-2), earned First Team All-Tournament honors with a two-day 73-71—144, leading the Scarlet Raptors and tying for fifth overall of 91 golfers…Carded a 76 to finish second on the Raptors’ A Team and third of 25 overall at the Stockton Invitational (Oct. 12)…After his record-tying 67 at the Eastern Invitational, finished the fall season with a 77 at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Fall Golf Invitational (Oct. 24), tying for second on the A Team and tying for third of 39 overall.
Spring 2016: Posted a 76.0 average in eight spring rounds, the second-best average on the team…Earned NEAC First Team honors, tying for fifth of 41 golfers (81-74—155) at the two-day conference championship (April 23-24)…Carded a 78-77—155 at the NCAA Championship (May 10-11), finishing second on the Scarlet Raptors and tying for 67th out of 210 golfers…Won the Barry M. Millett Award as the team’s Most Dedicated Golfer…Named Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week on April 11 and added NEAC Men’s Golfer of the Week honors on April 12…Carded a 70 to earn medalist honors in a field of 61 golfers at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Spring Golf Invitational (April 4)…That round was the best for any Scarlet Raptor during the spring season and was only one stroke shy of tying the Rutgers-Camden program record…Also was medalist at the Messiah Falcon Classic (April 19), beating a field of 80 golfers with a round of 72…Opened the season carding a 76 to finish second on the team and third of 40 overall at the Myrtle Beach Shootout (March 16)…Was third on the team and tied for third of 22 overall at the Stockton Invitational (March 30), carding an 80.
Fall 2015: Finished second on the team with a 74.6 average, playing in all five rounds…Named the North Eastern Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week on Oct. 27…Finished second at two of his five invitationals, while also placing fourth, sixth and tied for ninth…Carded a 6-over par 78, finished second on the team and sixth of 20 overall at the season-opening Philadelphia University Quad (Sept. 30)…Placed second on the Raptors’ A Team and second of 20 overall at the Stockton Invitational (Oct. 7), shooting a 3-over par 74…Shot another 3-over par round, this time with a 73, at the Muhlenberg Invitational (Oct. 12), placing second on the team and fourth of 61 overall…Led the Raptors and tied for ninth of 94 at the Franklin and Marshall Invitational (Oct. 19), shooting a 2-over par 73…Closed the season with a 5-over par 75 at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Invitational (Oct. 26), finishing second on the team and second of 73 overall.
Pre-Rutgers: Averaged 77.2 in five fall invitationals during his freshman year at Alvernia University in 2012…In his second collegiate outing, at the Messiah Falcon Classic (Sept. 11, 2012), carded a 74 to tie for third out of 90 golfers…During the 2013-14 scholastic year, played in 13 invitationals, covering 15 rounds, and averaged 79.3…Produced seven Top 10 finishes, including a 1-under par 71 at the Alvernia University Fall Invitational (Oct. 8, 2013) to earn individual medalist honors out of 29 golfers…Also finished second of 44 at the UC Spring Invitational (April 22, 2014), carding a 74…Earned Alvernia’s Male Athlete of the Week Sept. 16, 2013 after shooting a 78 and tying for ninth out of 93 at the Messiah Falcon Classic on Sept. 11, 2013…Captured First Team All-Conference honors after tying for fifth out of 50 golfers at the Commonwealth Championships (April 26-27, 2014) with a two-round total of 82-80—162…Also attended Burlington County College during the 2014-15 scholastic year.
High School: Captured four varsity golf letters for Coach Jeff Kates at Shawnee High School…Four-time All-Conference player…Three-time All-South Jersey and All-Group performer…Two-time All-State.
