Rutgers-Camden Athletics

One of the many good, young defenders on the Scarlet Raptors in 2016, Maddie Blanda started 10 of her 14 games for the women’s soccer program during her rookie season. Academically, she earned a berth on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for both the 2016 Fall and 2017 Spring semesters.
 
Blanda returns for her sophomore year in 2017.
 
Soccer 2016: Played in 14 games, starting 10…Had one assist for lone point…Took four shots, two on goal…Made her collegiate debut in the season opener, playing 38 minutes in a 3-0 loss at 12th-ranked Swarthmore College…Made her first collegiate start – the first of 10 straight starts – in the next game, helping the Raptors blank Widener University, 1-0 (Sept. 3)…Played 50 minutes and took one shot in that game…Played all 90 minutes in a 3-2 win over Alvernia University (Sept. 7), taking two shots, one on goal…Also played the full 90 minutes in a 2-0 win at Rutgers-Newark (Sept. 17)…Collected her lone assist on Kaitlyn Ennis’ insurance goal in a 3-1 victory over Ramapo College (Oct. 1), while playing 74 minutes.
 
High School: Two-year varsity letterwinner at Haddon Heights High School for Soccer Coach Brad Kent…Graduated in 2016…Captured All-Conference First Team honors and served as team captain during senior year…Honor Roll student all four years of high school.
 
Club Team: Berlin Angels.
 
Personal: Born October 13, 1997…Madison “Maddie” Blanda…Enjoys “early runs before starting my day, beach trips to Ocean City, New Jersey, playing soccer, hanging out with friends and cooking”…Nursing major at Rutgers-Camden who wants to be an oncology nurse at Cooper Hospital…Maddie is the daughter of Rosemarie and James Blanda of Haddon Heights.
