Biography

One of the Scarlet Raptors’ top throwers, Kyleigh Stevenson has earned two letters apiece in indoor and outdoor track at Rutgers-Camden, while competing in the shot put, weight throw and javelin. She has competed in the ECAC Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships during both of her years with the Scarlet Raptors and was named the Women’s Field Team MVP for Rutgers-Camden during her sophomore season.
 
During the 2018 outdoor season, Stevenson captured an Athlete of the Week honor from both the New Jersey Athletic Conference and the ECAC.

Outdoor Track 2018: Named Field Team MVP of the Rutgers-Camden women’s indoor/outdoor programs…New Jersey Athletic Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week (March 24)…ECAC Div. III Women’s Field Athlete of the Week (March 26)…Threw ECAC qualifiers in five of her seven javelin competitions leading up to the ECAC Div. III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, where she closed the season on May 16 with a javelin throw of 33.52 meters to finish fifth out of 20 athletes…Also competed in the shot put at seven meets during the year…Established PR throws in the javelin (35.69 meters, finishing fourth of 30 at the Lions Invitational on April 27) and in the shot put (10.24 meters, placing 11th of 35 at the Osprey Open on April 14)…A day earlier at the Osprey Open, placed fourth of 24 in the javelin (34.29 meters)…Also had a shot put of 9.87 meters (placing 20th of 43) on the second day of the Lions Invitational (April 28)…Opened the season March 24 at the Delaware Classic, finishing fourth of 16 in the javelin with her first ECAC-qualifying throw of the year (31.65 meters) and placing ninth of 15 in the shot put (9.11 meters)…Participated in both events at the Stockton Invitational (March 31) with a javelin throw of 33.68 meters (seventh of 19) and a shot put of 9.63 meters (12th of 22)…Finished third of 19 in the javelin (32.67 for her third straight ECAC qualifier) and 13th of 25 in the shot put (9.89 meters) at the Oscar Moore Open (April 6)…Threw the javelin (26.56 meters, placing 17th of 24) at Gwynedd Mercy’s Mid-Week Twilight Invitational (April 11)…Competed in the shot put (32nd of 45, 9.31 meters) at the Widener Invitational (April 20)…At the two-day New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 5-6), finished 17th of 17 in the javelin (28.17) and 13th of 23 in the shot put (9.71 meters).
 
Indoor Track 2017-18:  Finished sixth of nine in the shot put (9.51 meters) and sixth of eight in the weight throw (a PR of 9.48 meters) at the TCNJ Winter Opener (Dec. 2)…Placed 18th of 34 in the shot put (9.57 meters) at the Fast Times Before Finals meet (Dec. 9)…Had a PR shot put of 9.63 meters to finish 15th of 43 at the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 20)…Finished fourth of five in the weight throw (8.99 meters) at the Widener Field Meet (Feb. 26).
 
Outdoor Track 2017: Threw the javelin in eight meets and added three competitions in the shot put…Opened the season at the Golden Rams Invitational (March 25), notching a personal-best throw of 8.95 meters in the shot put (finishing 18th of 32) and placing 10th of 17 in the javelin with a 27.13-meter throw…Finished second out of 12 in the javelin (35.37 meters) and 12th of 15 in the shot put (8.33 meters) at the Stockton Invitational (April 1)…Finished second of eight in the javelin (31.70 meters) and fifth of 10 in the shot put (8.60 meters) at the Oscar Moore Open (April 8)…Beat a 31-athlete field to win the javelin competition at the Gwynedd Mercy Mid-Week Twilight Invitational (April 12), throwing a personal best of 35.64 to achieve an ECAC qualifier…That throw earned Stevenson Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week honor on April 17…Placed eighth of 29 in the javelin (33.82 meters) at the Widener Invitational (April 22)…Tied for 17th of 40 with a javelin throw of 31.50 meters at the Lions Invitational (April 28)…Scored a point by finishing eighth of 17 in the javelin (32.43 meters) at the NJAC Championships (May 6)…Closed her season placing ninth of nine in the javelin (31.19 meters) at the ECAC Championships (May 16).
 
Indoor Track 2016-17:  Competed in four meets in the shot put…Also competed twice in the weight throw…Opened the season by finishing 28th of 37 in the shot put at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout (8.47 meters)…Set her personal best of 8.75 meters to finish 19th of 34 in the shot put at the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 21)…Placed 14th of 19 in the shot (8.07 meters) and competed in the weight throw for the first time, finishing 14th of 15 (7.79 meters) at the Widener Field Meet (Jan. 27)…Competed in both events at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Meet (Feb. 20), placing 14th of 19 in the shot put (8.44 meters) and 16th of 17 in the weight throw (a personal best of 8.22 meters).
 
High School: Graduate of Penns Grove High School in 2016…Track letterwinner for Coach Marcus Dowe.
