A three-sport athlete at Rutgers-Camden, Leo Impagliazzo returned to the Scarlet Raptors’ cross country program last fall after taking a year off from competition during the 2015-16 scholastic year. Impagliazzo has earned three cross country letters (2012, 2014 and 2016) during his collegiate career, while also competing four years in indoor track (2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2016-17 seasons). A member of the outdoor track team in 2013, 2014 and 2015, he returns for his final outdoor season this spring.

Impagliazzo, who was honored in 2015 as the outdoor track team’s Most Dedicated Player, also was a member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2016 fall semester.
Impagliazzo served on Rutgers-Camden’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) during the 2016-17 scholastic year.

Indoor Track 2016-17: Competed in five meets at numerous distances…Helped the Scarlet Raptors set program records in the unique 4x160-meter relay at the Widener Field Meet (Jan. 27), placing first of three teams (1:19.30) and in the 1600 Sprint Medley at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout (Dec. 9), finishing sixth of eight (3:48.71)…Set an individual program mark at 600 meters (1:33.99) at the Wagner meet, placing 28th of 41 (1:33.99)…Opened the season at the Bow-Tie Classic (Dec. 3), finishing 11th of 22 at 400 meters (a personal best 57.64), 10th of 27 at 800 meters (2:15.99) and seventh of 11 at 3,000 meters (11:15.36)…In addition to his 4x160 record at the Widener meet, finished third of three at 1,000 meters (3:08.64) and third of four in the mile (5:28.02)…Placed 45th of 73 at 800 meters (2:15.32) at the St. Joseph’s College Indoor Invitational…Finished 18th of 20 at 800 meters (2:14.83) at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 20).

Cross Country 2016: Competed in seven of the eight invitationals for the cross country team…Opened the season at the 5K Philadelphia Metropolitan meet Sept. 10, finishing fourth on the team and 53rd of 90 overall (22:22.3)…Competed in a pair of 7.8K races (due to a short course) at the Bill Fritz/Charlie Way Invitational Sept. 17 (finishing fifth on the team and 136th of 174 overall in a 32:28.82 clocking) and the Inter-Regional Border Battle Oct. 15 (fourth on the team, 371st of 382 overall, 30:58.4)…Ran fifth on the team in 8K events at the Osprey Open Sept. 24 (102nd of 155 overall, 31:55.73) and the Jack Saint Clair Memorial Oct. 8 (89th of 162 overall, 34:59.8)…Finished fifth of the Raptors and 75th of 86 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships Oct. 29, clocking a time of 31:51.36…Notched a 31:12.0 time to run fourth on the team and 279th of 303 overall at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals Nov. 12.

Outdoor Track 2015: Competed in five meets, running at 800 meters four times, 1,500 meters twice and 200 meters once…Honored as the team’s Most Dedicated Player…Opened his season at the Danny Curran Invitational (March 28), finishing 50th of 83 at 800 meters (2:11.65) and 86th of 113 at 1,500 meters (4:37.30)…Ran the only 200-meter dash of his career at the Oscar Moore Open (April 1), finishing 21st of 26 (25.48)…Also placed 10th of 24 in the Oscar Moore 800-meter race (1:55.20)…Finished 68th of 88 at 1,500 meters (4:29.64) at the Widener Invitational (April 18)…Posted a 2:07.15 time to finish 56th of 81 at 800 meters at the Lions Invitational (April 25)…Finished 25th of 34 with a time of 2:07.18 at 800 meters during the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship (May 3).

Indoor Track 2014-15: Competed in five meets during the season…Ran the mile at the MAC Classic (Dec. 14), finishing sixth of 10 (4:55.84) and at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 7), placing 15th of 25 (5:00.48)…At the St. Joseph’s Invitational (Jan. 17), finished 10th of 17 at 1,000 meters (2:58.97) and 13th of 21 at 3,000 meters (10:11.09)…Ran the leadoff leg of the distance medley relay at the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 23), helping the Raptors place fifth of seven (11:31.71)…Competed at 800 meters in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship (Feb. 26), finishing 15th of 20 (2:09.73).

Cross Country 2014: One of the Scarlet Raptors’ top runners, who competed in all seven invitationals and finished everywhere from second to fourth on the team…Opened the season at the 5K Bryn Mawr Invite (Aug. 29), placing fourth on the team and 20th of 42 overall (18:43.04)…Finished fourth on the Raptors and 27th of 101 at the Highlander Invitational (Sept. 6) with a 31:05.29 clocking…At the Osprey Open (Sept. 20), finished third on the team and 54th of 109 overall in 29:10.12…Had his top placement of second on the Raptors and fourth of 26 overall at the Belmont Classic (Oct. 4, 34:26.10)…Third on the Raptors at both the Jack St. Clair Memorial Championships (Oct. 11, 34th of 136 overall, 30:14) and the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship (Nov. 1, 65th of 101, 29:03.58)…Set his personal best 8K time of 28:56.9 while finishing fourth on the Raptors and 196th of 285 overall at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals (Nov. 15).

Indoor Track 2013-14: Competed in five invitationals, running the 800, 1,000 and 4x800 events twice apiece and also adding one competition in the mile and the 4x400…Set indoor personal bests at 800 meters (2:02.22) at the NJAC Championship (March 1), finishing ninth of 21…Notched his top indoor times of 2:44.42 at 1,000 meters and 8:41.54 in the 4x800 at the Monmouth Winter Invitational (Feb. 8)…His top 4x400 time of 3:29.71 came at the Blue-White Invitational (Jan. 11)…Also finished fifth of 30 in the mile (4:55.85) at the LVC Invitational (Jan. 25).

Outdoor Track 2013: Competed in five meets, running 800 meters in every outing and adding races at 1,500 meters and on both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays teams…In his first spring meet, the Danny Curran Invitational (March 29), finished 36th of 57 at 800 meters (2:10.23), 53rd of 68 at 1,500 meters (4:31.52) and ran the third leg as the 4x400 team finished 11th of 18 (3:40.66)…Ran all three of those events at the New Jersey Invitational (April 13), including the first leg of the 4x400 (3:34.06, ninth of 21), the 800 (2:06.29, 25th of 60) and the 1,500 (4:25.29, 23rd of 43)…Finished 31st of 58 at 800 meters (2:03.52) at the Greyhound Invitational (April 20)…Ran the 800 meters (2:04.32, 60th of 92), the third leg of the 4x100 (46.04, eighth of 12) and the leadoff leg of the 4x400 (3:33.23, eighth of 20) at the Lions Invitational (April 27)…At the NJAC Championship (May 5), finished 12th of 27 at 800 meters (2:02.51) and was the leadoff leg as the 4x400 finished fifth of eight teams with a 3:25.07 clocking.

Indoor Track 2012-13: Competed in seven meets during the season, predominantly at 800 meters and the mile…Posted his personal best indoor times in both events in his last meet, the NJAC Championships (Feb. 22) when he finished 16th of 22 runners at 800 meters (2:07.56) and ninth of 22 in the mile (4:45.66)…Competed in his first collegiate indoor meet at the Bow-Tie Classic (Dec. 1), finishing 13th of 32 in the mile (4:54.39) and running the second leg on the 4x400 relay team (3:48.85), which finished ninth of 10…In the all-divisions Gotham Cup (Jan. 11) in New York City, finished 36th of 38 during his only indoor 1,000-meter run (2:51.58)…Placed 29th of 41 at 800 meters (2:14.64) and was fourth of seven with the distance medley relay (11:07.25), running the second leg, at the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 18)…Finished 12th of 22 at 800 meters (2:17.17) during the LVC Invitational (Jan. 26)…Ran the mile at both the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 2, 4:48.85, 17th of 52) and the Ursinus Open (Feb. 8, 4:51.19, 14th of 33).

Cross Country 2012: Competed in six invitationals, where he was among the Scarlet Raptors’ top seven runners in each outing…From his first collegiate meet to the end of the season, he shaved five minutes off his 8K times…Made his debut at the Dutchmen Invitational (Sept. 8), finishing fifth on the Scarlet Raptors and 81st of 104 overall in a time of 34:28.55…Posted a 32:22.05 clocking two weeks later at the Osprey Open (Sept. 22), finishing seventh on the team and 60th of 94 overall…Also finished seventh for Rutgers-Camden and 273rd of 322 overall at the Paul Short Run (Sept. 28), clocking a 33:17 time…Notched his best team finish, placing third, at the DeSales Invitational (Oct. 13) while recording a time of 31:08.66 to wind up 130th of 225 runners…Finished as the Scarlet Raptors’ No. 4 runner in both post-season races, including a personal best time of 29:07.58 at the NJAC Championships (Oct. 27), when he placed 61st of 90 runners…Closed season at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals (Nov. 10), finishing 233rd of 297 runners in a time of 29:45.7.
