Biography
Daniela Perez made her collegiate athletic debut as a member of the Rutgers-Camden cross country program last fall, while also competing in one meet with the indoor track program. She is a junior academically, who has sophomore athletic eligibility.
Academics: Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, 2017 Fall semester.
Indoor Track 2017-18: Competed in the TCNJ Winter Opener (Dec. 2), finishing ninth of 10 in the mile (7:15.82).
Cross Country 2017: Ran in all seven fall invitationals, finishing everywhere from fourth to eighth on the Scarlet Raptors…Made her collegiate debut in the 5K Wilmington Invitational, finishing fifth on the team and 30th of 34 overall (31:15.66)…In her first 6K race, placed fourth on the Raptors and 94th of 109 (39:46.55) at the Bill Fritz Invitational (Sept. 16)…Notched a 39:04.29 time to place 138th of 152 overall and eighth on the Raptors at the NJAIAW Championships (Sept. 23)…Finished seventh on the team and 64th of 82 (38:56.8) at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial race (Oct. 7)…Was 234th of 239 (33:39.0) and sixth on the team at the Inter-Regional Border Battle (Oct. 14)…Logged a time of 33:37.55 to place seventh on the team and 86th of 100 overall at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Oct. 28)…Set a 6K personal best of 33:16.5 – over six minutes faster than her first 6K race of the season – at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals (Nov. 11), placing seventh on the team and 279th of 285 overall.
High School: Attended Egg Harbor Township High School…Earned two varsity letters in track and field for Coach Erica Vazquez…Graduated in 2016.
Personal: Born May 29, 1998…Hobbies include listening to music, volunteering and reading…Biology major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to attend medical school…Daniela is the daughter of Paula Jaramillo and Juan Perez of Egg Harbor Township.
