Biography

A three-year veteran who has led the Scarlet Raptors to a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference titles, earned a pair of NEAC Second Team honors and competed in two NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships, Cory Meyer heads into his final semester with the Scarlet Raptors’ program. One of the team leaders, as well as one of the most successful golfers in program history, Meyer served as the Raptors’ tri-captain during his junior year and is a co-captain this year.
 
Over his 45 career rounds, Meyer owns an 80.0 average at Rutgers-Camden and has earned four berths on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

Fall 2018: Averaged 76.3 while playing in all six invitationals for the Raptors’ A Team…Tied for third on the team and third overall of 29 golfers at the season-opening NJCU Invitational (Sept. 18), shooting a 77…Carded a round of 80 to tie for fourth on the Raptors and tie for 10th of 52 at the Ursinus Invitational (Sept. 24)..Tied for second on the A Team and second of 27 overall, shooting a 73 at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Fall Golf Invitational (Oct. 1)…His round of 78 helped him finish fourth on the team and fifth overall of 24 golfers at the Stockton Invitational (Oct. 10)…Carded a 75 at both the Franklin & Marshall Invitational Oct. 15 (finishing second on the team and tied for 21st of 89 overall and at the NEAC Fall Preview Oct. 20 (leading the Raptors and tying for second of 19 overall).
 
Spring 2018: Competed in all nine spring rounds with the Raptors’ A Team, averaging 80.7…Tied for second on the team and for ninth of 38 overall by carding a 79 at the Myrtle Beach Shootout (March 14)…Placed third on the team and 10th of 15 overall with a round of 80 at the Jefferson University Invitational (March 19)…Had his semester-low round of 76 to finish second on the team and tied for third of 72 overall at the Scotland Run Shootout (March 31)…At the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Spring Golf Invitational (April 9), tied for fourth on the Raptors’ A Team and 21st of 46 overall with a round of 84…Shot an 82 to lead the Raptors and tie for third of 26 at the Stockton University Invitational (April 11)…Placed second on the team and tied for seventh of 47 overall with a round of 78 at the Stevenson University Invitational (April 23)…Carded an 80 to finish third on the team and tie for 12th of 43 overall at the Alvernia University Invitational (April 24)…Closed his season at the two-day North Eastern Athletic Conference Championships (April 28-29), carding an 83-84—167 to place fourth on the Raptors and tie for 16th of 42 overall.
 
Fall 2017:  In four fall invitationals with the Raptors’ A Team, averaged 78.3 …Finished third on the Raptors and tied for sixth of 22 overall at the Stockton University Invitational (Oct. 1)…Placed fourth of 44 overall and second on the Raptors, shooting a 78 at the Penn College Invitational (Oct. 10)…Placed third on the team and tied for 12th of 72 overall with a 77 at the Franklin & Marshall Fall Invitational (Oct. 16)…Second on the team and second overall of 29, shooting a 75 at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Fall Golf Invitational (Oct. 30).
 
Spring 2017: Compiled an 80.5 average for 10 spring rounds, including an 85-86—171 at the NCAA Championships (May 16-17), where he finished fourth on the Scarlet Raptors and tied for 188th of 215 golfers overall…Captured NEAC Second Team honors by shooting a two-day total of 81-79—160 at the conference championships (April 22-23), finishing seventh of 44 golfers…Opened the spring at the Myrtle Beach Shootout (March 15), shooting a 79 to tie for eighth of 33 golfers…Tied for 11th of 29 with a round of 84 at the NEAC Preview tournament (April 2)…Finished second on the Raptors and tied for second of 33 overall with a 6-over par 76 at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Spring Golf Invitational (April 3)…Tied for second on the Raptors’ A team and tied for second overall of 28 after carding a 76 at the Stockton Invitational (April 5)…Shot an 82 to tie for 18th of 53 overall at the Alvernia Invitational (April 11)…Placed fourth of 19 in a dual match against Wesley College (April 19), shooting a 7-over par 77.
 
Fall 2016: Posted an 81.7 average over three rounds…Opened the season with a round of 92 at the Moravian Invitational (Sept. 12), finishing fifth on the team and tying for 52nd of 64 overall…Played on the Raptors’ B Team at the Stockton Invitational (Oct. 12), leading the B Team with a 77 to finish fourth of 25 overall…Closed the year with a stellar performance on a windy day at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Fall Golf Invitational (Oct. 24)…At that event, led all Raptor golfers with a 76, while playing on the A Team, and finished second overall out of 39 athletes…The performance earned Meyer honors as Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week on Oct. 31.
 
Spring 2016: Posted an 81.0 average, fourth on the team, while playing in all eight rounds during the spring season…Captured NEAC Second Team recognition by finishing fifth on the Raptors and eighth of 41 overall at the two-day conference championships (April 23-24), carding an 80-79—159…Finished third on the team and tied for 145th of 210 overall at the NCAA Championships (May 10-11) with an 83-79—162 total…Finished fourth on the Raptors and tied for 17th of 40 at the season-opening Myrtle Beach Shootout (March 16), shooting a round of 83…Shot an 82 to finish fourth on the Raptors’ A Team and fifth of 22 overall at the Stockton Invitational (March 30)…Was fifth on the A Team and tied for 23rd of 61 with a round of 83 at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Spring Golf Invitational (April 4)…Placed third on the team and tied for 15th of 80 overall, shooting a 79 at the Messiah Falcon Classic (April 19).
 
Fall 2015:  Earned a berth in the Scarlet Raptors’ starting lineup and finished third on the team with an 81.0 average in five rounds during the fall season…Shot a 7-over par 79 in his first collegiate outing to finish third on the team and tie for seventh of 20 at the Philadelphia University Quad (Sept. 30)…Was third on the A Team and third of 20 overall at the Stockton Invitational (Oct. 7), shooting a 9-over par 80…Carded a 16-over par 86 and finished fifth on the team and tied for 41st of 61 at the Muhlenberg Invitational (Oct. 12)…Finished the season with a pair of 80’s at the Franklin and Marshall Invitational (Oct. 19, 9-over par) and the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Fall Invitational (Oct. 26, 10-over par)…Tied for second on the team and tied for 41st of 94 at F&M and was third on the A Team and 16th of 73 at the Raptors’ own invitational.
 
High School: Captured four varsity golf letters for Coach Ron Jones at Bordentown Regional High School…All-Conference First Team golfer as a junior and a senior…Bordentown Regional High School Men’s Golf All-Star four straight years…2015 Burlington County Player of the Year…2015 Burlington County Open champion…Had a 36.7 scoring average his senior year in 15 school matches…Shot 73 in the sectionals to qualify for the New Jersey High School State Tournament…Played in the U.S. Amateur Qualifier…Honor Roll during his freshman, junior and senior year…Received a golf scholarship from Coach Ron Jones and the Bordentown Community during his senior year.
