A transfer who played at both Saint Peters University and at Burlington County College, Krystine Rice was the Scarlet Raptors’ defensive anchor at shortstop during her first season at Rutgers-Camden in 2014.  She returns for her final year of collegiate eligibility this spring.

Softball 2014: Started all 35 games for the Scarlet Raptors, finishing third on the team with a .294 batting average…Led the club with 89 assists and five double plays…Finished fourth on the Raptors with 52 putouts…Second on the team with 30 hits and 20 runs…Tied for fourth with 14 RBIs…Her 89 assists were sixth on the program’s single-season list and her five double plays tied for 12th…Collected nine assists, one shy of the program’s single-game record, against Penn State-Abington (April 10, Game One)…Also had one putout in that game for 10 total chances…Had another game with 10 chances, notching four putouts and six assists against Hamline (March 21) …Went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and one run against Southern Maine (March 16)…Had a pair of five-game hitting streaks during the season, going 6-for-16 (.375) April 5-10 and 5-for-15 (.333) April 12-18…Also produced a trio of four-game hitting streaks…Had four multiple-hit games, including a 3-for-4 contest with three runs and two RBIs against Oberlin College (March 22)…Went 1-for-3 with one home run, one run and two RBIs in the opener of an April 18 doubleheader against William Paterson University…Scored multiple runs in six games.

Pre-Rutgers: Earned a softball letter at Saint Peters University in 2012 and at Burlington County College in 2013…Captured All-Garden State Athletic Conference First Team and All-Region 19 First Team recognition at BCC…Earned All-Academic honors at BCC.
