Biography

Rutgers-Camden’s top golfer, Patrick DeMareo has earned a pair of All-Conference First Team honors on the links, has been named to a pair of All-Conference Sportsmanship Teams and has captured numerous academic honors. In 32 rounds at Rutgers-Camden, he has averaged 77.6 during his career, while winning or tying for medalist honors on six occasions.
 
During the 2023 spring semester, DeMareo showcased his talents in another sport when he joined the men’s tennis team late in the semester. Between Rutgers-Camden’s affiliations for golf and tennis, DeMareo captured academic honors in two different conferences during the 2022-23 scholastic year, while also adding academic honors from the Philadelphia-area Sports Information Directors Association.

Tennis Spring 2023: Played in four singles matches and three doubles matches with the tennis team…Posted a 2-2 record in singles (0-1 at second and sixth singles, 2-0 at fifth singles)…Went 0-3 in doubles (0-1 at first doubles and 0-2 at third doubles)…After making his tennis debut against the powerful College of New Jersey (April 12) and losing at sixth singles (0-6, 0-6) and at third doubles (0-8 with Sean Boen), earned his first collegiate victory against Elizabethtown (April 16) with a 6-1, 6-1 win at fifth singles…In a match at King’s College (April 16), played second singles, losing 2-6, 1-6, and lost 2-8 at first doubles with Edward McWilliams Jr…Closed the season at Cairn University (April 22) with a 6-0, 6-1 win at fifth singles and a 4-8 loss at third doubles, teaming with Yianni Paxinos.
 
Spring 2023: United East First Team…United East All-Sportsmanship Team…United East Conference Golfer of the Week (April 18)…Named the team’s Most Valuable Player…Team co-captain…Averaged a team-leading 75.0 in eight rounds during the spring semester while leading the team at all six invitationals, including a pair of two-round events…Opened the spring carding a 74 to tie for second out of 90 golfers at the Lebanon Valley Invitational (March 27)…Finished second of 26 at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Spring Invitational (April 3) with a 76…Shot a two-day total of 79-76—155 to tie for ninth of 59 at the Swarthmore DuPont Invitational (April 10-11)…Tied for seventh of 65 golfers with a round of 73 at the F&M Spring Invitational (April 17)…Earned first team all-conference honors, finishing fourth of 44 golfers by shooting a 75-73—148 score at the United East Conference Championships (April 29)…Finished the season as the medalist at the Roadrunner Classic (May 8), carding a 74 in a field of 24 golfers.
 
Fall 2022: Led the Scarlet Raptors at all four invitationals, averaging 77.3 for the fall semester…Finished second of 36 golfers at the United East Preview (Sept. 27), shooting a 72…Carded a 78 to earn medalist honors out of 12 golfers in a dual match against Stockton (Oct. 10)…Shot a 77 and tied for 27th of 58 golfers at the F&M Fall Invitational (Oct. 17)…Tied for 7th of 26 on a raw day at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Fall Invitational (Oct. 24) with a round of 82.
 
Spring 2022: United East First Team…United East All-Sportsmanship Team…Rutgers-Camden’s top golfer, averaging 77.2 over six spring rounds…Tied for second place at the two-day United East Championship (April 23-24), shooting a two-day total of 74-80—154 to place one stroke behind the medalist…That performance earned him honors on April 25 as Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week…Tied for medalist honors out of 18 golfers at the Penn State-Abington Invitational (April 11) with a 4-over par 75…Finished third of 18 at the Stockton Invitational (March 23) with a 3-over par 74…Tied for eighth of 46 with a 77 at the Stevenson Spring Invitational (April 4)…Carded an 83 to tie for 5th of 75 at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational (April 18).
 
Fall 2021: Led the Scarlet Raptors with a 79.3 average during his four invitationals…Started the season with a semester-best round of 73, earning medalist honors out of 14 golfers at the Stockton Invitational (Sept. 21)…That performance marked the third time in his career he notched medalist honors…Led the Raptors with a round of 80 at the United East Preview (Oct. 4, tying for fourth of 19 golfers) and the Franklin & Marshall Invitational (Oct. 18, tying for 50th of 74 with an 82)…Shot a round of 83 to finish second on the team and tie for 11th of 42 at the semester-ending RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Fall Invitational (Oct. 25).
 
Spring 2021: North Eastern Athletic Conference Second Team…NEAC Rookie of the Year…NEAC Scholar-Athlete…Tied for medalist honors out of 16 golfers, carding an 83 at the season-opening Stockton Invitational (March 31)…Finished second on the team and 10th of 25 overall by carding a round of 84 at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Spring Golf Invitational (April 5)…Placed second on the team and tied for fifth of 31 at the NEAC Preview Tournament (April 14), shooting a 76…Earned his NEAC Second Team and Rookie of the Year honors at the NEAC Championships (April 24-25), tying for second on the team and tying for sixth of 29 by shooting a two-day total of 80-78—158…Closed the season as the medalist (out of 22 golfers) with a round of 72 at the RCSJ-Gloucester Invitational (April 26).
