Cristian Valdez earned his first collegiate letter as a member of the Rutgers-Camden men’s tennis program during the Scarlet Raptors’ 2022 spring season.

Tennis 2021-22: Posted a 0-4 record in singles, including a 0-2 mark at fourth singles and 0-1 marks at both the third and fifth flights…Went 0-2 at second doubles, playing as a team with Hani Qureshi…Made his debut playing fifth singles against SUNY-Oneonta (April 1), losing by scores of 0-6, 0-6…Dropped a third singles match against The College of New Jersey (April 2), 0-6, 0-6…Lost 0-6, 0-6 at fourth singles against both Ramapo (April 15) and Ursinus (April 22)…Also played at second doubles against both Ramapo (losing, 1-8) and Ursinus (0-8).

High School: Graduated from the Dwight Morrow Academies at Englewood in 2021.

Personal: Born June 6, 2003…Enjoys reading and listening to music…Computer Science major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to “find a good job and start paying off debt. Hopefully make something cool that improves quality of life.”…Cristian is the son of Madel Valdez of Englewood.
