The school record-holder in four track events, Walter Pierce also has competed with the Rutgers-Camden golf team.
Pierce ran track and played golf at New Jersey City University during his freshman year before transferring to Rutgers-Camden.

Outdoor Track 2025: New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team in the decathlon…USTFCCCA All-Region in the decathlon…Broke his own program record in the decathlon with 5,217 points at the NJAC Championships (May 3-4)…Set 10 PRs during the outdoor season…Opened the season at the Stockton Invitational (March 22), placing 22nd of 47 at 100 meters (11.56), 24th of 35 in the shot put (10.30 meters), 25th of 30 in the long jump (5.42 meters) and fifth of 12 with the 4x400 team (3.29.84)…Set a PR in both the 200-meter dash (23.80, 103rd of 160) and with the 4x400 team (3:23.77, seventh of 28), while also competing in the 4x100 (44.63, 12th of 15) and the high jump (no height) at the Danny Curran Invitational (March 29)…At the Ursinus College Track & Field Festival (April 5), finished 33rd of 47 in the shot put (10.16 meters), 43rd of 48 in the discus (25.81 meters) and 32nd of 34 in the javelin (27.39)…Placed 29th of 33 in the shot put (10.14 meters) at the Paul Donahue Invitational (April 18) and finished the two-day event the next day, placing 98th of 129 in the 200-meter dash (24.10), 25th of 25 in the javelin (13.36 meters) and 13th of 14 with the 4x100 team (45.89)…Placed 23rd of 25 in the 110-meter hurdles (18.51) and 37th of 40 in the long jump (5.53 meters) at the Lions Invitational (April 26)…Closed his season with a record-setting decathlon (5,217 points) to finish second of seven and earn NJAC Second Team honors at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (May 3-4)…On the first day of the decathlon, set his PR at 400 meters (52.31, first of seven), 100 meters (11.31, second of seven), the shot put (11.21 meters, second of seven) and the long jump (5.70 meters, fifth of seven), while also placing fourth of seven in the high jump (1.62 meters)…Added three PRs on the second day of the decathlon by finishing third of seven in the discus (27.73 meters), the pole vault (3.05 meters) and the javelin (29.61 meters), while also placing third of seven in both the 110-meter hurdles (16.99) and the 1,500-meter run (5:19.64).
Indoor Track 2024-25: Competed in six meets, setting program records in both the pentathlon and heptathlon, as well as the Mixed 4x400…Started the season at the FastTrack Opener (Dec. 6) by setting PRs in the 60-meter dash (7.44, finishing 71st of 101) and the 200-meter dash (23.90, 57th of 98), while also running on the 4x400 team (4:12.40, 14th of 14)…At the Bow-Tie Invitational (Dec. 7), placed third of six in the high jump (1.65 meters) and helped the 4x400 team finish first of six (3:35.88)…Finished 32nd of 54 in the 60-meter dash (7.46) and 20th of 21 with the 4x400 team (3:39.93) at the Gotham Cup (Jan. 17)…Placed eighth of 13 in the shot put (9.97 meters) and helped set a program record in the Mixed 4x400 (4:05.42) while finishing third of seven at the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 19)…Set a program record of 2,654 points and finished third of 10 in the pentathlon at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 8), placing first in the 60-meter hurdles (9.36), first in the shot put (10.90 meters), fourth in both the high jump (1.61 meters) and at 1,000 meters (3:09.96) and eighth in the long jump (5.11 meters)…Set a program record in the heptathlon of 3,897 points and finished fourth of six athletes in the two-day New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Feb. 22-23), setting PRs in the long jump (5.42 meters, finishing fifth), the shot put (11.36 meters, finishing first), the high jump, 1.68 meters, third, the pole vault (2.80 meters, third) and at 1,000 meters (3:05.49, second), while also placing fourth in both the 60-meter dash (7.46) and 60-meter hurdles (9.26).
Outdoor Track 2024: Opened the season at the Danny Curran Invitational (March 30), finishing 33rd of 55 in the 400-meter dash (53.93) and eighth of 13 in the 4x400 (a PR of 3:36.53)…Placed fifth of 35 at 400 meters (54.50) and second of seven in the 4x100 (44.16) at the Ursinus College Track & Field Festival (April 6)…Had a busy meet at the TCNJ Invitational (April 11-13), scoring 4,101 points to finish third of five in the decathlon while also placing first of four at 800 meters (a PR of 5:22.10) and eighth of 10 with the 4x400 team (3:42.71)…In the decathlon, finished fourth of five at 100 meters (11.95), third of five in the long jump (5.17 meters), fifth of five in the shot put (a PR of 9.30 meters), third of four in the high jump (1.56 meters) and third of four at 400 meters (56.09) on the first day (April 11), while completing the event on April 12 by placing second of four in the 110-meter hurdles (17.82), fourth of four in the discus (18.55 meters), fourth of four in the pole vault (2.15 meters), fourth of four in the javelin (22.81 meters) and first of four at 1,500 meters (5:22.10)…At the Paul Donahue Invitational (April 20) he finished 76th of 108 at 400 meters (a PR of 53.77), 59th of 59 in the long jump (3.92 meters), ninth of 18 with the 4x100 team (44.23) and 19th of 19 with the 4x400 team (4:15.38)…Helped the 4x100 team finish 12th of 21 in the 4x100 (a PR of 43.13) at the Penn Relays (April 26)…Capped his season at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 4-5) by finishing sixth of seven in the decathlon and setting a Rutgers-Camden program record with 4,784 points), while setting a PR in eight events…On May 4, set a PR in the high jump (1.70 meters, fourth of seven), the long jump (5.18 meter, seventh of seven) and the 100-meter dash (11.65, second of seven), while also placing third of seven at 400 meters (54.55) and fifth of seven in the shot put (9.15 meters)…Set a PR in all five decathlon events on May 5, finishing third of seven in the 110 hurdles (16.57), fifth of seven in the discus (24.67 meters), sixth of seven in the pole vault (2.65 meters), sixth of seven in the javelin (25.03 meters) and third of seven at 1,500 meters (5:08.04).
Golf Spring 2024: Finished fifth on the Scarlet Raptors at three spring invitationals…Shot a 103 to place 87th of 88 overall at the Lebanon Valley Invitational (March 25)…Placed 41st of 45 overall at the Albright Spring Invitational (March 27) with a round of 104…Notched his top round of 94 to tie for 37th of 46 at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Spring Golf Invitational (April 1).
Indoor Track 2023-24: Competed in seven indoor meets and earned Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week honors on Feb. 5 after setting a program record with 2,435 points in his first pentathlon at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 3)…At that meet he finished ninth of 16 in the pentathlon despite running most of his events for the only time all season as he competed in the 60-meter hurdles (finishing second at 9.20), the shot put (ninth, a PR of 8.70), long jump (10th, a PR of 5.34 meters), 1,000-meter run (10th, at PR of 3:11.11) and the high jump (16th, a PR of 1:40 meters)…He also ran on the 4x200 team, which finished 13th of 13 teams (2:02.34) at the Colden Invitational…In his first Rutgers-Camden meet, the FastTrack Opener (Dec. 1), he finished 12th of 27 in the 60-meter hurdles (8.84), 46th of 46 in the long jump (5.01 meters) and 18th of 18 with the 4x400 team (3:47.19)…Qualified for the 60-meter hurdle finals at the Bow-Tie Invitational (Dec. 8), finishing third of 14 (9.50) in the preliminaries and fifth of eight in the finals (9.40)…Earned a PR of 1:33.93 with the 4x200 team that finished 13th of 18 at the St. Thomas Invitational (Jan. 12), while also placing 23rd of 31 in the 60-meer hurdles (9.29) and 78th of 110 in the 200-meter dash (24.51)…At the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 20), finished eighth of 21 in the 60-meter hurdles preliminaries (9.30) and seventh of eight in the finals (9.04)…At the all-division FastTrack National Invite (Feb. 9), placed 29th of 45 in the 60-meter hurdles (9.28) and 109th of 121 in the 200-meter dash (a PR of 24.50)…Finished 16th of 17 in the 60-meter hurdles (9.63) at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Feb. 19).
Cross Country 2023: Completed a trio of 8K invitationals, making his Rutgers-Camden debut at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial (Oct. 7) when he finished third on the team and 75th of 88 overall in a time of 38:05.9…Notched a PR of 34:11.7 at the Border Battle (Oct. 14), finishing second on the team and 124th of 152 overall…Placed third on the Raptors and 116th of 144 overall at the Last Chance Run Fast meet (Oct. 20), posting a 34:20.38 clocking.
Golf Fall 2023: Competed at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Fall Invitational (Oct. 23), shooting a round of 100 as an individual to place 16th of 19 players overall.
Pre-Rutgers: Golf and track athlete as a freshman at New Jersey City University during the 2022-23 scholastic year.
