Biography
Maresa Savarese was sidelined by injuries during the 2024 soccer season, delaying her climb up the all-time Rutgers-Camden scoring ladder. During her first two seasons in 2022 and 2023, Savarese produced 12 goals and 29 points. She will enter the 2025 season tied for 14th in goals and 16th in points among the program’s career leaders. She has won numerous season and weekly honors, including a pair of All-New Jersey Athletic Conference awards.
Savarese, who will serve as a team tri-captain in 2025, led the Scarlet Raptors in scoring during both of her first two seasons. She also has captured several academic honors at Rutgers-Camden.

Soccer 2023: NJAC Second Team…NJAC Offensive Player of the Week Sept. 5; Mayor’s Cup All-Tournament Team Sept. 9-10…Led the team in goals (7) and points (18), while finishing second in assists (4)…Took 40 shots and put 21 on goal for a .525 percentage…Collected two game-winning goals to tie for second on the team…Started all 18 Raptor games…Opened the season with a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over Neumann (Sept. 1)…Added one goal the next day in a 3-0 win over King’s…Collected a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over Hartwick (Sept. 9) at the Mayor’s Cup Tournament in Oneonta, New York…Scored the Raptors’ lone goal in a 2-1 loss against Washington College (Sept. 13)…Collected one goal and one assist in a 4-0 victory over Bryn Athyn (Sept. 16)…Assisted on the Raptors’ lone goal in a 2-1 loss to New Jersey City (Oct. 4)…Collected her first game-winning goal of the season in a 2-0 victory over Kea (Oct. 7)…Her goal, off the saved rebound of her own shot with 8:53 remaining in the game, gave Rutgers-Camden a 1-0 win over Rutgers-Newark (Oct. 14)…Had season highs of five shots against both Neumann and Hartwick.
Soccer 2022: Captured New Jersey Athletic Conference Honorable Mention…Played in all 18 Rutgers-Camden games, starting every game except her first collegiate contest in the season opener against Lynchburg (Sept. 3)…Led the team with five goals and two game-winning goals…Tied for the team lead with 11 points…Took 25 shots, 16 on goal…Made her first career start in a 2-2 tie against Alvernia (Sept. 7) and scored the Raptors’ first goal of the season for her first collegiate tally…Notched one goal and one assist in a 3-0 win over Ramapo (Sept. 28), with the goal being her first game-winning goal…Scored the game-winning goal in a 3-1 victory over New Jersey City (Oct. 1), helping her earn honors on Oct. 3 as the NJAC Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week…Helped the Raptors rally from a 3-0 halftime deficit to tie Stockton, 3-3 (Oct. 19), sparking the team with an early second-half goal…Scored the team’s lone goal in a 1-1 double-overtime tie against Rutgers-Newark (Oct. 29) in the NJAC quarterfinals and added a penalty kick to help the team advance to the conference semifinals…Earned her second NJAC Rookie of the Week on Oct. 31.
