Biography

A’Maya Standard made her collegiate athletic debut with the Rutgers-Camden cross country program during the 2024 fall semester and captured conference Rookie of the Week honors. She continued her 2024-25 scholastic year with letters during the indoor and outdoor track seasons, while also earning academic honors.
 
Stanard, who enters her junior academic year in the fall of 2025, will have sophomore athletic eligibility in all three sports.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2024-25 scholastic year…Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2024 Fall and 2025 Spring semesters.
 
Outdoor Track 2025: Competed in five different events over five meets…Ran on the 4x400 relay team in her first outdoor meet, the Danny Curran Invitational (March 29), helping the Scarlet Raptors finish 14th of 15 teams (4:42.74)…Set her PR of 28.32 at 200 meters (finishing 26th of 52) at the Ursinus College Track & Field Festival (April 5), while also running on the 4x100 relay team (53.84, sixth of nine) and the 4x400 relay team (4:31.15, ninth of 12)…Had a busy day at the Paul Donahue Invitational (April 19), setting a PR at 100 meters (13.57, 38th of 68), finishing 36th of 57 at 400 meters (1:05.80) and running with both the 4x100 relay tea (52.09, seventh of 12) and the 4x400 team (4:20.90, 11th of 16)…Finished 20th of 22 with the 4x100 team (53.28) and 15th of 17 with the 4x400 team (a PR of 4:20.44) at the Lions Invitational (April 26)…At the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (May 3-4), placed 14th of 28 in the 400-meter dash (a PR of 1:04.26) on the opening day and sixth of eight with the 4x100 team (a PR of 51.67) on the final day.
 
Indoor Track 2024-25: Established her PR in five different events while competing at five meets during her first indoor season…Ran with the 4x400 team that finished 13th of 13 (4:56.30) at the FastTrack Opener (Dec. 6)…Finished 16th of 30 in the 200-meter dash (29.94) at the Bow-Tie Invitational (Dec. 7)…Established PRs at 800 meters (2:50.02, finishing 33rd of 44) and with the 4x200 team (1:57.26, 10th of 14) at the St. Thomas Aquinas meet (Jan. 10)…Set a PR of 1:06.98 at 400 meters, finishing 16th of 32, at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 8), while also running on the 4x400 team (4:56.96, ninth of nine)… At the two-day New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Feb. 22-23), finished seventh of seven on the 4x200 team (1:59.31) the first day and competed in three events on the second day, setting PRs at 200 meters (28.74, 21st of 25) and the 4x400 (seventh of seven, 4:52.69), while also competing at 400 meters (19th of 20, 1:07.97).
 
Cross Country 2024: Made her Scarlet Raptor debut at the Philadelphia Cross Classic (Sept. 7), running a 5K time of 28:14.63 to finish third on the Rutgers-Camden team and 51st of 71 overall…Earned honors as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week on Oct. 28, three days after posting a 5K PR of 23:56.1 to finish third on the team and 53rd of 61 at the Haverford Invitational…Placed second on the team and 81st of 111 overall at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Nov. 2) with a 6K PR of 28:13.5…Was the top runner for Rutgers-Camden at a pair of 6K meets, finishing 146th of 180 at the Sept. 14 Osprey Open (30:11.50) and 63rd of 121 at the Oct. 19th Border Battle (at the time, her PR of 28:20.8).
 
High School: Captured one varsity letter in outdoor track for Coach Jeff Misuraco at Cherokee High School…Earned academic honors from the New Jersey Department of Education…Spanish Seal of Biliteracy…Business and Technology Honor Society…National Honor Society…Spanish Honor Society…Graduated in 2023.
 
Personal: Born July 2, 2005…First name pronounced “Uh-Maya”…Hobbies and interests include reading/studying her Bible, baking, running, talking walks, cooking, napping with her dog, watching WWE and shopping…Nursing major with a Spanish minor at Rutgers-Camden…Plans to get her master’s degree in Nursing to become a Surgical Nurse Practitioner and work at her church on the side…A’Maya is the daughter of Steven and Terri Standard of Marlton.
