Antonio Busbee had a busy freshman year at Rutgers-Camden, earning letters with the cross country, indoor and outdoor track programs. He helped to set a program record with the Mixed 4x400 team during indoor season.
Program records: Indoor Track – Mixed 4x400 (4:05.42) at the Gotham Cup (Jan. 17, 2025).
Academics: Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2025 Spring semester.
Outdoor Track 2025: Competed in three different events over three meets…At the Ursinus College Track & Field Festival (April 5), finished 61st of 80 in the 200-meter dash (24.65) and helped the 4x40 relay team place 20th of 27 (3:40.69)…At the Paul Donahue Invitational (April 19), placed 101st of 129 at 200 meters (24.22) and 69th of 81 at 400 meters (54.21)… At the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (May 3), set a PR in both the 200-meter dash (24.18, 25th of 30) and 400-meter dash (53.22, 23rd of 27).
Indoor Track 2024-25: Competed in six events over seven meets…Ran his lone 4x800 at the FastTrack Opener (Dec. 6), helping the team finish first of six squads in a PR of 8:16.61…At the St. Thomas Aquinas meet (Jan. 10), finished 60th of 88 at 400 meters (54.27) and 10th of 17 with the 4x200 team (1:34.61)…At the Gotham Cup (Jan. 17), finished 54th of 63 at 400 meters (54.69) and 20th of 21 with the 4x400 team (a PR of 3:39.93)…Helped set a program record in a new event, finishing third of seven in the Mixed 4x400 (4:05.42) at the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 19)…Set his PR of 53.81 at 400 meters, finishing 98th of 119 at the FastTrack National Invitational (Feb. 7)…Notched his 200-meter PR (24.76), finishing 27th of 56, and also helped the 4x400 team place ninth of 13 (3:53.20) at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 8)… At the two-day New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Feb. 22-23), ran with the 4x200 relay team that finished eighth of eight (a PR of 1:32.39) on the first day and placed 23rd of 25 at 400 meters (55.34) and ninth of nine with the 4x400 team (3:57.62) on the second day.
Cross Country 2024: Competed in six of the Scarlet Raptors’ seven races…Made his Scarlet Raptor debut at the Philadelphia Cross Classic (Sept. 7), running an 8K time of 34:46.29 to finish third on the team and 40th of 78 overall…Placed fourth on the Raptors and 166th of 189 overall with an 8K clocking of 34:00.32 at the Osprey Open (Sept. 14)…At the 6K Herb Lorenze Cross Country Invitational (Sept. 20), placed fifth on the team and 48th of 49 with a 26:48.1 time…Ran in the 8K Open at the massive Border Battle (Oct. 19), finishing first on the team and 135th of 190 overall with an 8K time of 32:46.5…Notched his 8K PR of 31:36.6 to finish third on the Raptors and 77th of 89 overall at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships (Nov. 2)…Closed his season at the NCAA Metro Regionals (Nov. 16), posting a 32:26.7 8K time to finish third on the Scarlet Raptors and 154th of 186 overall.
Antonio Busbee joins the Rutgers University-Camden cross country program this fall and will continue his collegiate athletic career running the 400- and 800-meter events with the Scarlet Raptors’ indoor and outdoor track programs later this scholastic year.
High School: Graduated from Camden Academy Charter High School in 2024.
