Biography

Brittany Thompson returns to collegiate athletic competition for the first time in three years. She had a stellar freshman year at Rutgers-Camden (2014-15), competing with three programs (cross country, indoor and outdoor track). The versatile Thompson participated in eight different events and distances, improved throughout each season and capped her freshman year earning honors as the Most Dedicated Player with the women’s outdoor track team.
 
8164Outdoor Track 2015: Competed in the 800-meter run during five meets, while also running the 200-meter dash once…Honored as the team’s Most Dedicated Player…In her first 800-meter competition, finished 78th of 78 (3:49.26) at the Danny Curran Invitational (March 28)…Placed 22nd of 22 in her lone 200-meter dash (33.68) and 15th of 18 at 800 meters (3:23.75) during the Oscar Moore Open (April 1)…Continued shaving her 800-meter time (3:23.26) while finishing 65th of 68 at the Widener Invitational (April 18)…Lowered her 800-meter time to 3:15.85, finishing 84th of 88 at the Lions Invitational (April 25)…Capped her season with a personal best of 3:15.65 800-meter time while finishing 33rd of 33 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship (May 3).
 
Indoor Track 2014-15: Ran at four meets and competed in five different events…Made her collegiate indoor track debut in the 400-meter dash at the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 23), finishing 42nd of 43 in a time of 1:26.79…Finished 18th of 20 in her first long jump competition (3.50 M/11-5.75) and 20th of 21 in her lone indoor mile (7:59.33) at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 7)…Set a personal best of 3.75 meters (12-3.75) while finishing seventh of nine in the long jump at the Albright Invitational (Feb. 14)…Also tried the triple jump for the first time, but fouled…At the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship (Feb. 26), finished 21st of 22 at 800 meters (3:28.69) and also tried the long jump and triple jump, fouling on both.
 
Cross Country 2014: Competed in six invitationals during the fall season…Shaved over six minutes off of her 6K time and nearly five minutes off her 5K time during the season…Ran her first collegiate race at the 5K Bryn Mawr Invite (Aug. 29), finishing seventh on the Raptors and last of 64 runners in a time of 36:47.67…By her next 5K race, on Oct. 4 at the Belmont Classic, she ran a time of 31:55.69, finishing sixth on the team and 23rd of 29…Ran her first 6K race at the NJAIAW Championships (Sept. 20), finishing seventh on the team and 77th of 80 in 38:35.94…In her next 6K race, posted a 35:54 time to finish sixth on the team and 93rd of 141 at the Jack St. Clair Memorial Championships (Oct. 11)…Dropped her 6K time to 33:44.85 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship (Nov. 1), finishing sixth on the team and 80th of 87…Posted a personal best 6K time of 32:20.2 in her final race, the NCAA Atlantic Regionals (Nov. 15), to finish fifth on the team and 267th of 272.
 
High School: Graduated from Passaic County Tech in 2013.
