Rutgers-Camden Athletics

Colin Ward returns to the Rutgers-Camden cross country program after a year’s absence. He saw his first collegiate action with the cross country team in 2014 and has since competed two seasons in indoor track (2014-15 and 2015-16) and one year on the outdoor track team (2016).
 
Outdoor Track 2016: Ran the 1,500-meter event at six outdoor invitationals…Finished 40th of 48 at the Stockton Invitational (March 26) in a time of 4:57.70…Posted a 4:45.24 clocking to place 15th of 18 at the Oscar Moore Open (April 1)…Finished 26th of 27 in a 5:15.61 time at the Osprey Open (April 9)…Ran a personal best of 4:38.09 to place 56th of 64 at the Greyhound Invitational (April 16)…finished 88th of 102 (4:39.85) at the Widener Invitational (April 23)…Closed the season at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship (May 8), finishing 19th of 21 at 1,500 meters with a 4:46.01 clocking.
 
Indoor Track 2015-16: Competed in four meets, running at 800 meters…Posted a 2:21.51 clocking (adjusted to 2:23.53 to account for the banked track) to finish 45th of 52 at the Ramapo Indoor Select Meet (Jan. 30)…Posted a 2:23.71 time to finish 33rd of 35 at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 6)…Placed nine of 12 in a time of 2:31.88 (adjusted to 2:29.42 to account for the short track) at the Albright Invitational (Feb. 13)…Finished 17th of 20 (2:20.55) at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship (Feb. 22).
 
Indoor Track 2014-15: Competed in two indoor meets…Finished 18th of 19 in the 500-meter dash (1:21.34) at the MAC Classic (Dec. 14)…Didn’t finish at 1,000 meters at the St. Joseph’s Invitational (Jan. 17), placing 17th of 17.
 
Cross Country 2014: Competed in seven invitationals during the fall season, finishing fifth on the Raptors in every race except one, when he was sixth on the team and 72nd of 136 overall at the Jack St. Clair Memorial Championships (Oct. 11) in a time of 32:30…Opened the season with a 19:33.13 clocking at the 5K Bryn Mawr Invite (Aug. 29) to finish 21st of 42 runners…Placed 41st of 101 at the Highlander Invitational (Sept. 6) in a time of 32:31.98…Recorded his personal best 8K time of 30:31.09 to finish 70th of 109 at the Osprey Open (Sept. 2)…Placed 10th of 26 at the Belmont Classic (Oct. 4) in a time of 36:15.07…Finished 80th of 101 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship (Nov. 1) in a time of 31:00.29…Closed season at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals (Nov. 15), posting a 30:53.6 time to finish 258th of 285 runners.
 
High School: Multi-sport letterman at Gloucester Catholic High School in football, wrestling and track…Ran track for Coach Ian Chrzanowski, who is now an assistant track coach at Rutgers-Camden.
