A junior academically, Mya Cabanas Montero has competed for two seasons with the Rutgers-Camden cross country program and one season apiece with the softball, indoor track and outdoor track teams.

Outdoor Track 2025: Set a PR in four different field events over the course of four spring meets…At the season-opening Stockton Invitational (March 22), set a PR in the shot put (7.71 meters, finishing 21st of 28), while also placing 20th of 26 in the javelin (19.21 meters), 33rd of 34 in the discus (15.14 meters) and 17th of 17 in the hammer (15.44 meters)…Competed in the hammer throw on the first day of the Ursinus College Track & Field Festival (April 4), finishing 22nd of 25 (16.10 meters) and competed in three events at that invitational the next day, finishing 22nd of 35 in the javelin (23.90 meters), 42nd of 46 in the shot put (6.59 meters) and 41st of 44 in the discus (14.25 meters)…Set a PR of 24.94 meters, finishing 16th of 26 in the javelin, at the Paul Donahue Invitational (April 19)…At the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (May 3-4), competed in both the hammer (a PR of 30.63 meters, 17th of 22) and javelin (22.69 meters, 14th of 17) on the first day and capped her performance on the second day in the discus (a PR of 19.28 meters, 24th of 24) and the shot put (7.56 meters, 21st of 25).
Indoor Track 2024-25: Competed at six meets, participating in the weight throw and the shot put…Her first collegiate meet came at the Bow-Tie Invitational (Dec. 7), where she was 10th of 12 in the weight throw (6.41 meters) and 20th of 21 in the shot put (5.68 meters)…At the St. Thomas Aquinas meet (Jan. 10), finished 45th of 56 in the weight throw (8.44 meters) and 55th of 60 in the shot put (5.69 meters)…Set her PR of 8.67 in the weight throw (finishing fifth of six) and also placed 10th of 10 in the shot put (6.16 meters) at the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 19)…At the Winter Evening Invitational (Jan. 25), finished 48th of 50 in the weight throw (8.06 meters)…Competed at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 8), fouling in the weight throw but placing 37th of 42 in the shot put (7.10 meters)…At the two-day New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Feb. 22-23), placed 19th of 20 in the shot put on the first day with a PR of 7.52 meters, while finishing 19th of 20 in the weight throw (7.59 meters) the next day.
Cross Country 2024: Ran in five meets during the season, opening the year with a 5K PR (35:54.52) at the Philadelphia Cross Country Classic (Sept. 7), finishing eighth on the Raptors and 70th of 71 overall…Placed seventh on the team and 50th of 66 overall at the 6K Highlander Invitational (Oct. 5, 42:03.0)…At the 6K Border Battle (Oct. 19), finished sixth on the team and 117th of 121 overall (42:24.1)…Posted a 5K time of 38:59.0 at the Haverford Invitational (Oct. 25), finishing sixth on the team and 61st of 61 overall…Closed the season finishing eighth on the Rutgers-Camden team and 106th of 111 overall at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships with a 6K time of 39:52.1 (Nov. 2).
Softball 2024: Appeared in one game, serving as a pinch runner in the seventh inning against Plymouth State (March 10).
Cross Country 2023: Placed sixth on the Scarlet Raptors at all four of her 6K meets…Made her debut at the Dan Talbot Open (Sept. 29), finishing 69th of 74 in a time of 42:58.58…Finished 74th of 74 (42:25.7) at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial (Oct. 7)…Posted her PR of 39:42.98 to place 80th of 91 at the Last Chance Run Fast meet (Oct. 20)…Finished 101st of 102 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Oct. 28) in a time of 47:34.3.
High School: Multi-sport letterwinner in soccer, softball and track & field at Florence Township Memorial High School…Earned two letters in softball and one apiece in soccer and track & field…Earned New Jersey Player of the Week and New Jersey Goalie of the Week in soccer…Honor Roll student…Future Leader and Academics Awards…Honors in AP Language and Culture…Graduated in 2023.
