Biography

Patrick Dwamena joined the Rutgers-Camden indoor track team late in the 2022-23 winter season to earn his first collegiate letter. He added a second letter during the 2023 outdoor season and joined the cross country program during the 2023 fall season.
 
Cross Country 2023: Competed in a pair of 8K meets…Made his cross country debut at the Cairn Cup (Oct. 11), finishing fourth on the Scarlet Raptors and 33rd of 37 overall in a time of 53:31.468…Notched his PR of 46:51.3 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Oct. 28), placing second on the team and 88th of 95 overall.
 
Outdoor Track 2023: Competed in five different events over the course of six outdoor meets…Made his outdoor collegiate debut in the 400-meter dash (1:01.79, finishing 34th of 46) at the Stockton Invitational (March 25)…Competed at both 200 meters (25.14, 77th of 106) and 400 meters (45th of 72, 55.82) at the Danny Curran Invitational (April 1)…Ran with the 4x100 relay team for the first of four times, setting a PR of 42.93 (11th of 13) at the Osprey Open (April 8)…Had a busy weekend at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (May 6-7), setting four PRs in the 400-meter dash (54.51, 25th of 29), the 200-meter dash (24.44, 27th of 32), the long jump (5.62 meters, finishing 22nd of 24 in his long competition in the event) and the 4x400 (3:50.16, ninth of nine, also in his lone time running the event)…Also helped the 4x100 team finish ninth of 10 (47.26) at the NJAC meet.
 
Indoor Track 2022-23: Joined the team in time for the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 4), where he finished 45th of 52 in the 800-meter run with a PR of 2:20.60…Also competed at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Feb. 20), finishing 21st of 26 at 400 meters (56.95), 16th of 17 at 800 meters (2:30.65) and ninth of nine with the 4x400 relay team (3:57.69).
 
High School: Earned two varsity letters apiece in soccer, track and wrestling at Winslow Township High School…Ran on the gold medal-winning DMR team at the Woodbury Relays for Coach Curtis Custis…Graduated in 2022.
 
Personal: Born June 29, 2004…Last name pronounced “Chra-meh-nah”…Nicknamed “Takyi”…Hobbies include reading, soccer and weight lifting…Has studied jiu jitsu…Psychology major at Rutgers-Camden with a minor in Childhood Studies…Plans to work in the field of psychology…Patrick is the son of Patricia Owusu Twum of Sicklerville.
