After completing one of the most decorated athletic careers in Rutgers University-Camden history, two-time NCAA Division III hammer throw champion Jude Misko joins the Scarlet Raptors’ track and field coaching staff during the 2022-23 scholastic year.

Misko’s stellar Rutgers-Camden career included the 2021 NCAA Division III hammer throw title (60.48 meters, finishing first of 17 athletes) and a successful defense of his crown at the 2022 NCAA Championship with a throw of 60.42 meters (first of 20 athletes). A two-time All-American at Rutgers-Camden, he also earned a national title and All-American status during his junior college career with Rowan College at Gloucester County.

Misko left quite a legacy at Rutgers-Camden, where he set the indoor track record in the weight throw (17.71 meters) and the outdoor track mark in the hammer throw (62.21 meters).

At the 2022 New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship, Misko captured his third NJAC hammer title, setting an NJAC Championship record (61.92 meters) in the process and being named the conference Men’s Outstanding Field Athlete.

During his senior season, he finished first in the hammer throw in six of his seven meets, earned NJAC Field Athlete of the Week three times and captured a pair of Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week honors.

Misko’s senior exploits during the outdoor season came on the heels of his 2021-22 indoor track season when he captured the weight throw title at the NJAC Championships (17.64 meters) and earned a pair of honors apiece as the NJAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week and Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week.

During the 2020-21 scholastic year, Misko was limited to outdoor track season, since the pandemic cancelled the indoor season after also canceling the 2020 outdoor season. The layoff didn’t stop Misko, however, as he finished first in the hammer throw at all seven of his meets, including the NJAC Championships and the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship, capturing his first national crown. He was a four-time NJAC Field Athlete of the Week and a three-time Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week.

Misko made his Rutgers-Camden debut with the 2018-19 indoor track team, where he finished sixth in the weight throw and seventh in the shot put at the NJAC Championships before placing third in the weight throw at the ECAC Championships. The following winter, he won the weight throw title at both the NJAC meet and the ECAC meet. Between those two indoor seasons, he earned his first Rutgers-Camden outdoor track letter in 2019, while capturing hammer championships in both the NJAC and ECAC meets and being named a USTFCCCA All-Atlantic Region performer.

Misko’s first national title in the hammer throw came in 2017 when he was competing for Rowan College at Gloucester County.

In addition to his track accomplishments, Misko was a three-time NJAC Academic Honorable Mention, a Dean’s List student and an eight-time member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. A Criminal Justice major, he was one of only 26 athletes on the 119-member 2022 Spring AD Honor Roll to earn a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Misko’s collegiate career followed a stellar scholastic career at Cherry Hill High School East, where he earned two letters in both indoor and outdoor track and field, while also collecting a letter in football. The track team captain as a senior, he was an all-conference performer in the shot put during outdoor season and is listed on the Shot Put Living Legends chart at Cherry Hill East.
