Biography
It didn’t take long for Justin McLaurin to make his mark at Rutgers-Camden. In his first meet with the indoor rack program, McLaurin broke the program record in the triple jump with a leap of 13.29 meters at the TCNJ Winter Opener (Dec. 2). He also competed with the Raptors’ outdoor track program in the spring.

Outdoor Track 2018: Competed in four meets in the long jump, adding the triple jump competition at two of them…Opened the season placing ninth of 16 in the long jump (5.63 meters) and sixth of seven in the triple jump (11.39 meters) at the Delaware Classic (March 24)…Finished 15th of 26 in the long jump (5.68 meters) at the Osprey Open (April 14)…Posted his outdoor PR in the triple jump (12.39 meters), finishing 12th of 18, and also placed 45th of 52 in the long jump (5.34 meters) at the Widener Invitational (April 21)…Set his PR in the long jump (6.02 meters) and finished 11th of 14 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 5).
Indoor Track 2017-18: Competed in the long jump and triple jump during four winter meets…Made collegiate athletic debut at the TCNJ Winter Opener (Dec. 2), setting a program record in the triple jump (13.29 meters) while finishing fifth of six athletes and posting a 5.40-meter leap in the long jump (ninth of nine)…Had a long jump of 5.39 meters to place 29th of 30 at the Fast Times Before Finals meet (Dec. 9)…Placed 21st of 23 in the long jump (4.66 meters) and 12th of 14 in the triple jump (11.24 meters) at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 3)…At the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 19), finished 14th of 17 in the long jump (a PR of 5.79 meters) and 14th of 16 in the triple jump (11.63 meters).
High School: Captured eight varsity letters at Woodbury High School, including three apiece in soccer and outdoor track and two in basketball…Colonial Conference triple jump champion in 2016 for Coach Dan Jones…Helped the Thundering Herd win the Colonial Conference and South Jersey Group 1 basketball championships in 2017…Honor Roll student…Graduated in 2017.
Personal: Born August 7, 1999…Last name pronounced “Mick-lore-in”…Enjoys watching and playing sports, hanging out with teammates and friends, traveling and being with his family…Health Sciences major at Rutgers-Camden…Plans to become a physical therapist…Justin is the son of Latonya and Jeff McLaurin of Mount Royal.
