Biography

Kirstin Slater returned to the Rutgers-Camden athletic program during the 2021 fall semester, running in all eight invitationals for the cross country program after sitting out the 2020-21 pandemic year. An athlete for all seasons, she owns three cross country and indoor track letters at Rutgers-Camden, while competing with the outdoor track team twice.
 
Slater helped the Scarlet Raptors set an indoor track program record in the 1,600 Sprint Medley. In the classroom, she has earned several academic honors during her first two years on campus.
 
Program records (through 2020-21 school year): Indoor Track – 1,600 Sprint Medley (4:43.41) at the Seahawk Shootout (Dec. 7, 2018) with Erica Gilmore, Tathiana Henry and Alexis Jones.

Outdoor Track 2022: Injured for most of the spring, she returned for one late-season meet, running with the 4x400 relay team at the Lions Invitational (April 30)…The team finished fourth of four squads with her PR time of 4:39.99.
 
Indoor Track 2021-22: Competed in six meets, running four different events…Finished 16th of 22 at 3,000 meters (12:32.68) at the Fastrack Season Opener (Dec. 3) and 15th of 17 at 3,000 meters (12:40.37) at the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 22)…Ran the mile at the Dec.10 Bow-Tie Invitational (10th of 22, 6:01.08) and the Feb. 5 Frank Colden Invitational (32nd of 47, 6:12.04)…Helped the 4x400 team post a 4:59.95 clocking (14th of 15) at the Fastrack National Invitational (Feb. 11)…Ran 5,000 meters (10th of 10, 21:34.46) at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Feb. 21).
 
Cross Country 2021: Led the Scarlet Raptor women’s team in all eight invitationals during the season, starting with 5K runs at Bryn Mawr (Sept. 1, finishing 30th of 55 runners) and the Osprey Memorial Invitational (Sept. 10, placing eighth of 21), where she posted times of 24:20.8 and 21:18.42, respectively…Competing in 6K events the rest of the season, she finished 45th of 129 (26:45.78) at the NJAIAW Championships (Sept. 25) and 155th of 263 (26:23.9) at the Paul Short Run (Oct. 2)...Finished 34th of 90 (27:58.0) at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial Invitational (Oct. 9) and 57th of 150 (27:31.3) at the Border Battle (Oct. 16)…At the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Oct. 30), placed 31st of 83 in a 26:06.9 clocking…Closed the season with her top 6K time of the year (25:56.9) to finish 95th of 171 at the NCAA Metro Regional on Nov. 13.

Indoor Track 2019-20: Competed in seven different events over eight meets, establishing a PR in five events…At the Fastrack Season Opener (Dec. 6), finished 10th of 16 at 1,000 meters (3:35.05) and placed 19th of 33 in the mile with a PR of 5:52.35…Notched a PR of 1:56.20 at 600 meters (19th of 23) and ran with the sprint medley team (4:54.19, ninth of 11) at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout (Dec. 13)…Ran both the mile (fifth of nine, 6:15.00) and the 3,000-meter run (fifth of 11, a PR of 12:16.58) at the Dutchmen Invitational (Jan. 17)…Ran 5,000 meters at both the Collegeville Classic (third of six, 20:52.90) and the Frank Colden Invitational (ninth of 25, 20:24.85) on Jan. 25 and Feb. 8, respectively…Finished 23rd of 41 in the mile (6:01.18) at the Susquehanna Invitational (Feb. 15)…Captured a pair of PRs at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Feb. 24), finishing 12th of 15 at 5,000 meters (20:23.28) and ninth of nine with the 4x400 team (4:57.07)…At the ECAC Championships, placed sixth of seven at 5,000 meters (20:38.19) on March 6 and finished seventh of 14 in the mile (5:52.46) on March 7.
 
Cross Country 2019: Led the Scarlet Raptors’ cross country team at all nine of its meets, while setting her top times at both 5K and 6K events…Posted 5K times of 24:42.54 and 23:26.8 at the Bryn Mawr Invitational (Aug. 30) and the Philadelphia Metro Invitational (Sept. 7), respectively, while finishing 53rd of 116 and 46th of 105, overall…Was 73rd of 210 (27:18.87) at the 6K NJAIAW Championships (Sept. 21)…Finished sixth out of 40 runners at the Dan Talbot Open (Sept. 27), posting a time of 27:48.8…Finished 33rd of 123 overall (26:57.4) at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial (Oct. 12)…Set her 6K PR of 24:59.4 at the Inter-Regional Border Battle (Oct. 19), finishing 161st of 224 overall…Placed 40th of 106 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Nov. 2), finishing in a time of 25:25.1…Notched her 5K PR of 20:32.83 at the Nick Russo Halloween event (Nov. 10), finishing third of 14 overall…Closed her season at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals (Nov. 16), finishing 154th of 274 runners overall in a 25:59.7 clocking.
 
Outdoor Track 2019: Competed in the 1,500-meter run at six outdoor meets, while also adding one race at 800 meters…Notched a time of 5:46.66 at 1,500 meters to finish 22nd of 29 at the season-opening Stockton Invitational (March 23)…Finished 58th of 93 at 1,500 meters (5:29.41) at the Danny Curran Invitational (March 30)…Placed seventh of 14 in the 1,500-meter run (5:49.69) at the Oscar Moore Open (April 5)…Posted her PR at 800 meters (2:47.96, 28th of 49) and also finished 17th of 32 at 1,500 meters (5:32.26) at the Osprey Open (April 13)…Placed 65th of 82 at 1,500 meters with a PR of 5:29.07 at the Widener Invitational (April 20)…Closed her season at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (May 5), placing 18th of 24 at 1,500 meters (5:39.91).
 
Indoor Track 2018-19: Competed in five meets, running the mile four times and competing at 1,000 meters, 3,000 meters and the Sprint Medley once each…Helped set the program’s record in the 1,600 Spring Medley (4:43.41) at the Seahawk Shootout (Dec. 7), while finishing third of eight…Also set her individual PR of 3:34.40 at 1,000 meters in the Seahawk Shootout, finishing ninth of 12…Started her indoor season at the TCNJ Open (Dec. 1), finishing 11th of 13 in the mile (6:06.61)…Finished 33rd of 44 in the mile (6:21.63) at the Moravian Invitational (Jan. 26) and 19th of 37 in that event (6:08.02) at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 2)…Added a PR at 3,000 meters (12:20.93) to place 15th of 18 in the Frank Colden meet…Set a PR in the mile (6:02.82) to finish 13th of 17 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Feb. 18).
 
Cross Country 2018: Ran in all eight Raptor invitationals, making her debut in the season-opening Bryn Mawr Invitational (Aug. 31), when she finished third on the team and 44th of 102 overall with a 24:02.2 clocking…Set her 5K PR of 23:44.6 at the Philadelphia Metropolitan Invitational (Sept. 8), placing third on the Raptors and 51st of 112 overall…In her first collegiate 6K race, placed second on the team and 35th of 60 overall with a time of 28:04.2 at the Delaware Invitational (Sept. 15)…Finished third on the Raptors and 45th of 117 at the NJAIAW Championships (Sept. 22) with a 27:42.02 clocking…At the Paul Short Run (Sept. 29), finished 225th of 357 (27:44), placing third on the team…Beginning with the Inter-Regional Border Battle (Oct. 13), finished second on the team in her last three races…At the Inter-Regional Border Battle, set a 6K PR of 25:29.8, placing 269th of 347 overall…Finished 48th of 97 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Oct. 27) in a time of 26:25.43…Placed 197th of 305 at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals (Nov. 10) in a 26:44.3 clocking.
