Sprinter Lance Matchett made his Rutgers-Camden athletic debut last winter as part of the indoor track team and added a program record and an academic honor during the spring semester.

Program records (through 2017-18): Outdoor Track – 4x200 (1:37.73) with Tom Meyer, Jordan Perkins and Elijah Crouch at the Oscar Moore Open (April 6, 2018).

Academics: Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, 2018 Spring semester.

Outdoor Track 2018: Ran the 100-meter dash in all six of his meets, while also participating in the 200-meter dash (three times), the 4x100 (three times) and the 4x200 (once)…Helped to set a program record in the 4x200 (1:37.73) as the team finished third of three relay squads at the Oscar Moore Open (April 6)…Also ran the 100-meter dash (12.99, 22nd of 22) and the 4x100 (46.62, third of three) at that meet…Opened the season at the Delaware Classic (March 24), placing 21st of 21 at 100 meters (12.74), 30th of 32 at 200 meters (26.99) and third of four with the 4x100 team (47.61)…At the Stockton Invitational (March 31), finished 26th of 30 in the 100-meter dash (a PR of 12.55) and 42nd of 44 in the 200-meter dash (26.23)…Placed 10th of 11 with the 4x100 team (a PR of 45.19) at the Osprey Open (April 14)…Finished 23rd of 24 in the 100-meter dash (12.62) and 26th of 27 at 200 meters (a PR of 25.93) at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 5)…Closed the season running the 100-meter dash (12.88, 38th of 38) at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier (May 14).

Indoor Track 2017-18: Competed in two meets in the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes…Made Raptor debut Feb. 3 at the Frank Colden Invitational, finishing 56th of 64 in the 60-meter dash (8:15) and 48th of 55 in the 200-meter dash (27.74)…Set a PR in both events at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 19), placing 17th of 18 in the 60-meter dash (8.12) and 19th of 20 in the 200-meter dash (26.58).

High School: Graduated from Burlington Township High School in 2017.
