Rutgers-Camden Athletics

One of the leaders on the men’s track program, Meek Sumter made his Rutgers-Camden athletic debut during the 2021-22 scholastic year, joining the indoor track team to compete in the shot put. He earned his second Scarlet Raptor letter as a member of the outdoor track team during the 2022 spring season and completed his collegiate career with the track programs during the 2022-23 scholastic year.
 
Academics: Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2022 Fall and 2023 Spring semesters…Dean’s List student.
 
Outdoor Track 2023: Competed in the shot put at four meets…Opened his season at the Danny Curran Invitational (March 31), finishing 44th of 54 (8.91 meters)…Had a shot put of 9.00 meters (27th of 37) at the Osprey Open (April 8) and raised his standard to 9.14 meters (43rd of 51) at the Widener Invitational (April 21)…Capped his career with a PR of 9.78 meters (28th of 34) at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (May 7).
 
Indoor Track 2022-23: Competed in the shot put at four meets…Opened the indoor campaign at the Fasttrack Season Opener (Dec. 2), finishing 29th of 35 with a shot put of 9.63 meters…Cracked the 10-meter barrier with a shot put of 10.05 meters at the Bow-Tie Invitational (Dec. 9), finishing 30th of 41…Set a PR of 10.53 meters and finished 17th of 27 in the shot put at the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 21)…Placed 43rd of 55 with a shot put of 9.55 meters at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 4).
 
Outdoor Track 2022: Competed in the shot put at three meets…Finished 27th of 29 (8.89 meters) at the Danny Curran Invitational (April 1)…Notched his PR of 9.57 meters and finished 36th of 48 at the Osprey Open (April 9)…Placed 57th of 65 at the Widener Invitational (April 22) with a shot put of 9.18 meters.
