One of the top sprinters in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, Trey Gilliard returns for his senior season with the indoor track program this winter. An all-conference performer who holds Rutgers-Camden records in the 60-meter dash and with three relay teams, Gilliard has earned three letters apiece with both the indoor and outdoor track programs.
Outdoor Track 2015: Competed in five meets, running both the 100- and 200-meter dashes…Opened the season at the Oscar Moore Open (April 1), finishing fifth of 29 in the 100-meter preliminaries (11.42), seventh of eight in the 100-meter finals (11.37) and eighth of 26 in the 200-meter dash (23.36)…Posted an 11.22 clocking at 100 meters to finish 29th of 46 at the Larry Ellis Invitational (April 18)…Was 14th of 66 at 100 meters (11.39) and eighth of 74 at 200 meters (22.69) at the Lions Invitational (April 25)…Qualified for the 100-meter finals, finishing sixth of 25 (11.13) on the first day of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship (May 2)…The next day at the NJAC meet, finished fourth of eight in the 100-meter final (11.09) and placed seventh of 34 in the 200-meter dash (22.34), setting personal bests in both events…His PB times barely missed the ECAC qualifying times of 11.05 at 100 meters and 22.30 at 200 meters…Ran the 200-meter dash at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier (May 11), finishing 10th of 41 in a time of 22.42.
Indoor Track 2014-15: Set a program record in the 60-meter hurdles, earned All-New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team honors in the event, competed in the ECAC Championships and set four indoor personal bests during the season…Named the Most Valuable Player of the men’s indoor track team…Honored as Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week on Dec. 8, Feb. 9 and March 2…After qualifying fifth of 63 in the 60-meter dash (7.17) at the season-opening Bow Tie Classic (Dec. 6), ran a program record 7.07 to finish fourth of six in the finals…Also placed second of 50 in the 200-meter dash (23.35) and ran the third leg of the 4x200 team (1:38.99) which finished 14th of 20 at the Bow Tie Classic…Ran both the 60-meter dash (seventh of 17, 7.20) and the 300-meter dash (15th of 23, 37.60) at the MAC Classic (Dec. 14)…At the St. Joseph’s Invitational (Jan. 17), finished sixth of 41 in the 60-meter preliminaries (7.27) and fifth of six in the finals (7.25), while also placing fifth of 37 in the 200-meter dash (23.57) and anchoring the 4x200 team to a third-place finish of 13 teams (1:37.50)…Finished ninth in the 60-meter dash at both the Collegeville Classic Jan. 23 (ninth of 70, 7.29) and the Ramapo Select Meet Feb. 7 (ninth of 38, 7.15)…Also was sixth of 38 in the 200-meter dash (22.37) at the Ramapo meet…Had a fine outing at the Albright Invitational (Feb. 14), finishing second of 25 in the 55-meter preliminaries (6.86) and third of 12 in the final (6.78), while also winning the 200-meter dash (24.20) over a 19-man field…Finished second of 13 in the 200-meter dash (22.80) and 11th of 21 in the 60-meter dash (7.25) at the all-division Princeton Invitational (Feb. 22)…At the NJAC Indoor Track & Field Championship (Feb. 26), finished sixth of 25 in the 60-meter dash preliminaries (7.12) and was second of eight in the final with a program-record 7.02 clocking, earning NJAC Second Team honors…Also finished fifth of 29 at 200 meters (22.59) and ran the leadoff leg to help the 4x200 team finish fourth of nine (1:34.09)…Between his individual and relay events, helped to account for 17 of the Scarlet Raptors’ 24 points…Finished 16th of 32 (7.11) in the 60-meter dash preliminaries at the ECAC Championships (March 6).
Outdoor Track 2014: Competed in seven invitationals, running the 100- and 200-meter dashes and serving on record-setting 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams…Helped the Raptors run ECAC qualifiers in both relays…Notched his personal-best 100-meter clocking of 11.44 at the New Jersey Invitational (April 12), finishing 21st of 56, and tied that mark at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship (May 3) when he placed ninth of 21…Led a field of 14 in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.67 at the WCU Open (April 25), the same day he was the leadoff leg on the Raptors’ winning 4x100 (43.97)…Set his personal best of 22.67 in the 200-meter dash on the second day of the NJAC Championship (May 4), finishing seventh of 25…Ran the leadoff leg of the 4x400 when the Raptors set a program record of 3:19.68 at the Larry Ellis Invitational (April 19), finishing ninth of 20…Helped the Raptors lower that mark to 3:16.55 by running the leadoff leg of the 4x400 at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier (May 12), finishing second of nine…Ran the third leg of the Raptors’ record-setting 4x100 relay (43.20), which finished fourth of nine at the NJAC Championship (May 4).
Indoor Track 2013-14: A sprinter who competed in seven meets, captured three all-conference honors and helped set a program record during his second season with the indoor track program…Was the leadoff leg on the program’s record-setting 4x200 relay team (1:29.43), which earned All-Conference First Team honors by winning the NJAC Championship (March 1), besting a field of eight…Also ran the first leg and helped the Raptors’ 4x400 team earn NJAC Second Team honors in a time of 3:23.82, finishing second of nine…Individually, earned NJAC Honorable Mention by placing third of 26 in the 200-meter dash (22.50) at the conference meet…His 200-meter and 4x200 meter relay times were personal bests…Qualified for the ECAC championships in three events (200 meters, 4x200 and 4x400) throughout the season…Also set a personal best in the 400-meter dash (54.01) at the Monmouth Winter Invitational (Feb. 8)…Also competed in the 60-meter dash at one meet, posting a 7.44 clocking to finish 11th of 22 at the Haverford Invitational (Dec. 14).
Outdoor Track 2013: Competed in five events over two meets during outdoor season…Set his outdoor personal bests at 100 meters (11.79, 22nd of 34), 200 meters (23.65, 28th of 57) and as the second leg of the 4x400 relay team (3:40.66, 11th of 18) at the Danny Curran Invitational (March 29)…Also competed in the Osprey Open (April 6), finishing 21st of 38 in the 200-meter dash (24.21) and setting personal bests at 400 meters (55.83, 27th of 47) and as the second leg of the 4x100, which finished sixth of nine teams in a 44.97 clocking.
Indoor Track 2012-13: Became one of the top sprinters on the Scarlet Raptors during his first season in collegiate track while competing in seven meets…Ran the leadoff leg on the team’s 4x200 relay team, which established program records in three consecutive meets, capped by a 1:31.78 time to finish 13th of 21 at the ECAC Championships (March 1)…Prior to that meet, the team finished third at both the Ursinus Open (Feb. 8) and the NJAC Championship (Feb. 22) with program records of 1:32.84 and then 1:32.66, respectively…Showing at the NJACs earned the team members NJAC Honorable Mention recognition…Individually, he also finished 13th of 24 in the 60-meter dash (7.33) and 12th of 22 in the 200-meter dash (23.65) at the NJAC meet, with both marks setting personal bests…Made his collegiate debut at the all-division Gotham Cup (Jan. 11) and finished 60th of 95 in the 60-meter dash (7.45)…Ran three events at the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 18), finishing 18th of 43 at 60 meters (7.44), 12th of 31 at 200 meters (24.61) and helping the 4x200 team place sixth of nine (1:39.75) as the leadoff leg…At the LVC Invitational (Jan. 26), finished ninth of 34 at 55 meters (7.00) and 13th of 34 at 500 meters (1:16.53)…Finished 20th of 52 at 60 meters (7.58), ninth of 43 at 200 meters (24.09) and anchored the 4x400 team to a third-place finish out of eight clubs (3:42.99) at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 2)…In addition to his first 4x200 program mark at the Ursinus Open, also finished 12th of 51 in the 60-meter dash (7.36) and 16th of 51 at 200 meters (23.81).
High School: Captured two lacrosse letters at William Penn High School for Coach Jeff Dreisbach…Helped team win the state championship during his junior year.
