Andrew Pierson has seen Rutgers-Camden championship golf from both sides of the sport.
A student-athlete on Rutgers-Camden’s first two North Eastern Athletic Conference championship teams in 2009 and 2010, Pierson had the chance to experience the Scarlet Raptors’ third NEAC title as a first-year assistant coach in 2013. He has added three more NEAC titles as an assistant coach during the past three years, allowing him to play a direct role in all six of the team’s conference championship squads in Rutgers-Camden’s eight years in the NEAC.
One of the top players in program history, Pierson competed in 50 rounds during his four-year Rutgers-Camden career, posting an 83.1 average. He earned the Barry M. Millett Memorial Award as the Raptors’ Most Dedicated Player during his freshman year of 2008-09, and capped his senior season (2011-12) with recognition as the team’s Most Valuable Player.
During his last semester in the 2012 spring season, Pierson finished fourth of 40 golfers at the NEAC Championships, earning First Team NEAC honors. He had captured Second Team NEAC honors during his sophomore season in the spring of 2010.
Pierson was the NEAC Golf Student-Athlete of the Week on March 26, 2012 following his performance as the overall medalist at the Richard Stockton Triangular March 23. He led, or tied for the team lead, in six of the eight invitationals that spring.

During the 2011 fall season, he earned individual medalist honors out of 33 golfers at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptors Fall Golf Invitational (Oct. 17). His round tied for the seventh-best score in program history, only three strokes behind the record 69 notched by Dave Taraschi on April 10, 2007. That performance earned Pierson honors as the NEAC Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 24, and he added recognition as Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week the same day.
At the 2011 NEAC Championships, he finished 16th out of 45 golfers to help the Scarlet Raptors place second, carding a two-day total of 80-82-162. He also opened the spring season as the overall medalist with an 80 as the Raptors swept a tri-match with Carleton and Elmhurst (March 17, 2011).
Pierson was the Raptors’ top golfer at three invitationals during the 2010 fall season, only months after earning his NEAC Second Team honor while leading Rutgers-Camden to its second straight conference title. He shot a two-round total of 164 at the 2010 NEAC Championships and then carded a two-round total of 169 at the NCAA Division III Golf Championship.
Pierson made his collegiate debut during the 2008 fall season, averaging 87.5 in a pair of invitationals. He competed in three rounds during the 2009 spring semester, averaging 84.7 and earning recognition as the team’s Most Dedicated Player.

A four-year letterman at Paul VI High School, Pierson was named his team’s Most Improved Player as a junior and captured All-Olympic Conference First Team recognition as a senior.
A 2013 Rutgers-Camden graduate who majored in Management, Pierson is a USGTF Golf Professional and serves as the Golf Teaching Pro and the Assistant Manager at the Camden County Golf Academy.
