Rutgers-Camden Athletics

A co-captain on the 2022-23 golf team and captain on the 2023-24 team, David Gibson averaged 88.8 over 27 rounds at Rutgers-Camden in a career interrupted by the pandemic-cancelled athletic schedules. He completed his career during the 2023 fall semester.
 
Academics: Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2019 Fall, 2020 Spring, 2020 Fall, 2021 Fall, 2022 Spring, 2022 Fall, 2023 Spring and 2023 Fall semesters…Dean’s List student…One of 47 athletes on the 171-member AD Honor Roll for the 2020 Spring semester to post a 4.0 GPA.
 
Fall 2023: Competed in all three round for the Raptors during the fall semester, averaging 86.0…Led the team and tied for 10th of 43 golfers with a round of 85 at the United East Preview (Sept. 26)…Finished fifth on the team and tied for 51st of 67 at the F&M Fall Invitational (Oct. 16), shooting an 87…Carded an 86 to place fifth on the Scarlet Raptors and ninth of 19 at the RU-Camden Fall Invitational (Oct. 23).
 
Spring 2023: Team co-captain…Recorded his top semester average, notching an 84.5 in eight spring rounds…Finished second on the team and tied for 16th overall out of 90 golfers, shooting an 80 at the season-opening Lebanon Valley Invitational (March 27)…Carded an 81 at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Spring Invitational (April 3) to tie for second on the team and tie for sixth of 26 overall…Placed fourth on the team and tied for 47th of 59 at the two-day Swarthmore DuPont Invitational (April 10-11), shooting an 84-93—177 score…Finished fifth on the team and 54th of 65 at the F&M Spring Invitational, with a round of 92…Placed third on the Raptors and tied for 23rd of 44 overall, shooting 86-78—164 at the United East Conference Championships (April 29)…Shot an 82 to place third on the team and tie for ninth of 24 at the Roadrunner Classic (May 8).
 
Fall 2022: Averaged 89.3 in four rounds…Finished second on the team and 17th of 36 overall at the United East Preview (Sept. 27), shooting an 85…Carded a 93 to place fifth on the Raptors and tie for 10th of 12 golfers in a dual match against Stockton (Oct. 10)…Placed fourth on the Raptors in his last two invitationals, including the F&M Fall Invitational (Oct. 17) when he shot an 89 to place 54th of 58 golfers…Shot a 90 and tied for 18th of 26 at the season-ending RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Fall Invitational (Oct. 24).
 
Spring 2022: Averaged 92.3 in six rounds…Shot 93-87—180 over two days at the United East Conference Championships (April 23-24) to finish fourth on the Scarlet Raptors and 28th of 40 overall…Opened the spring season with an 86 to place fourth on the team and 10th of 18 at the Stockton Invitational (March 23)…Placed second on the Raptors and tied for 36th of 46 with a round of 86 at the Stevenson Spring Invitational (April 4)…Shot an 88 to finish third on the team and 10th of 18 at the PSU-Abington Invitational (April 11)…Placed fourth on the team and 74th of 75 overall with a round of 114 at the F&M Spring Invitational (April 18).
