Biography

Alex Loope earned a pair of Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors while competing as a graduate student during his first year at Rutgers University-Camden. The Scarlet Raptors’ top player and a team co-captain during the 2024-25 scholastic year, Loope came to Rutgers-Camden after earning four tennis letters as an undergraduate student at Division I Davidson College.
 
Overall, Loope posted a 5-6 record in both singles and doubles during the 2024-25 campaign, while playing at the top spot in all but one singles matches.
 
Tennis Spring 2025: Named All-WIAC First Team Singles for the East Division…Named to the All-WIAC Sportsmanship Team…Played as the Raptors’ top singles and doubles player in all four of the team’s spring matches, going 2-2 at singles and 1-3 in doubles (1-0 with Alex Turcu and 0-3 with Neal Shah)…Won his opening singles match of the spring against Neumann (March 28), 6-3, 6-0, and teamed with Turcu to win at first doubles, 6-3…Teamed with Shah at first doubles the rest of the spring, dropping 6-2 decisions in each match against Salisbury (March 29) and in a WIAC tri-match against both SUNY-Oneonta and The College of New Jersey on April 19…In the Salisbury match, lost at first singles (2-6, 2-6)…Split his singles decisions in the WIAC action on April 19, beating Oneonta (6-3, 4-5, retired) and losing against TCNJ (1-6, 4-6).
 
Tennis Fall 2024: Posted a 3-4 singles record (2-4 at first singles and 1-0 at third singles)…Went 4-3 at first doubles (2-2 with Alex Turcu in his first four doubles matches and 2-1 with Kenil Patwa in his last three matches)…Opened the season against DeSales (Sept. 7), losing in singles (4-5, retired) and winning in doubles by a 7-6 (7-5) score…Beat Penn State-Brandywine (Sept. 20) in singles (6-0, 6-0) and doubles (6-1)…In a match against Division II Kutztown (Sept. 21), lost in singles (3-6, 3-6) an doubles (1-6)…Lost at Scranton (Sept. 29) in singles (4-6, 2-1, retired) and doubles (2-6)…lost in singles (2-3, retired) and doubles, 6-7 (5-7), at Wilkes (Oct. 5)…Posted a pair of wins at York (Oct. 12), taking a 6-4, 6-2 decision in his lone match of the season at third singles, and winning, 6-2, in doubles…Ended the semester at Eastern (Oct. 19) with wins in singles (6-1, 6-2) and doubles (6-3).
 
Pre-Rutgers: Earned four varsity letters at Division I Davidson College of the Atlantic 10 Conference, playing mainly doubles…Won a team-best 10 doubles matches in a row during his sophomore year in 2019…Won doubles matches against the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech…Played #1 doubles in the Atlantic 10 tournament in 2019.
