Mitch Winkler joined the Rutgers-Camden coaching staff during the 2015-16 scholastic year. He returns for his sixth campaigns as an assistant coach with the men’s and women’s tennis programs during the 2020-21 scholastic year.

Winkler comes with an extensive background as a player, teacher, and coach. A former Courier-Post All-South Jersey High School Player of the Year, Winkler is a former Number 1-ranked junior in New Jersey and twice was half of the Number 1-ranked men's doubles team in New Jersey. He led his USTA team to a berth in the National Championships in 2010 and 2003 while achieving a perfect career record of 20-0.

Winkler has been the tennis professional for the Haddonfield Tennis Association for over 15 years. He is currently in his third year as coach of the Haddonfield High School Girls Developmental Program. He has privately coached many of the girls and boys on the Haddonfield High School state championship teams throughout the years. He also is the private coach of Brittany Reedman, the 2014 ITA Division 3 Northeast Regional Finalist and NJAC Rookie of the Year, who was the 2017 SJTCA Girls College Player of the Year.
 
A graduate of Temple University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, he served as tennis director and manager of the Green Valley Tennis Club for 10 years.
        
Winkler was the Girls Tennis Coach at Bishop Eustace Prep School for the past six years. His teams accumulated a very impressive record of 98-18, captured five Olympic Conference National Division championships and reached the finals of the Sectional Championships on four occasions. In 2015, he led Bishop Eustace to the South Jersey Non-Public A Sectional Championship, becoming the only high school girls coach in South Jersey history to win a Sectional Championship at two different schools. His first Sectional Championship came at Paul VI High School in 2002, which earned him recognition as the Philadelphia Inquirer South Jersey High School Girls Tennis Coach of the Year
