A member of the 2016-17 Rutgers-Camden men’s tennis team as a freshman, Jair Norman returned to the program during the 2021 spring season and played third singles, while splitting time at first and second doubles. He owns a combined 10-18 record during his two seasons with the tennis program, including a 6-8 mark in singles and a 4-10 doubles record.

Academics: Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2021 Spring semester.

Tennis Spring 2021: Went 0-3 at third singles and was 0-3 in doubles (0-1 with Jose Vargas at first doubles and 0-2 at second doubles with Shariq Khan)…Opened the season at eventual conference champion New Jersey City, losing at singles (0-6, 0-6) and at second doubles (0-8)…Playing perennial conference power New Jersey City, lost a singles (1-6, 1-6) and at second doubles (2-8)…Dropped a close singles decision at Ramapo (April 24), losing 7-5, 6-7, 5-10…In the NJAC semifinals at New Jersey City (May 7), lost 0-8 at first doubles.

Tennis 2016-17: Played No. 3 singles and teamed with Jason Mehta as the No. 1 doubles combination throughout the season…Went 6-5 at singles and 4-7 in doubles…Won his first collegiate singles match, 6-1, 6-7 (2-7), 10-8 in a marathon against McDaniel College Feb. 25…Posted an 8-4 win with Mehta against Staten Island April 2 for his first doubles win…That victory set off a three-match winning streak at first doubles, which includes a pair of wins against Albertus Magnus on April 8 by 9-7 and 8-4 scores.

High School: Two-time Tri-County Conference First Team tennis star at Williamstown High School, earning the honor during both the 2015 and 2016 season…SJTCA All-Group 4 Singles player in 2016…Earned the SJTCA Career Achievement Award in 2016…Graduated from Williamstown High School in 2016.
