A two-year Rutgers-Camden tennis letterman, Matt Deak has earned six wins apiece in singles and doubles over his collegiate career. He was named the Scarlet Raptors’ Most Dedicated Player as a freshman.

Tennis 2019-20: Season cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tennis 2018-19: Played in 10 matches, posting a 2-8 mark in singles (1-5 at first singles and 1-3 at second singles) and a 4-4 mark in doubles (1-1 at second doubles and 3-3 at third doubles)…Had a 4-3 doubles mark while combining with Jose Vargas and an 0-1 mark at third doubles teaming with Steven Zhang…Opened the season against Neumann (March 9), losing at second singles (1-6, 2-6) and winning at second doubles (8-5)…Earned an 8-3 win at third doubles against Penn State-Abington (March 24)…Captured a pair of wins against Lehman (March 30), posting a 6-0, 6-0 victory at first singles and an 8-0 win at third doubles…Also won twice at Penn State-Brandywine (April 27), with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at second singles and an 8-2 win at third doubles.

Tennis 2017-18: Played in all 10 matches for the Scarlet Raptors as a freshman…Named the team’s Most Dedicated Player…Went 4-6 in singles (0-1 at second singles and 4-5 at third singles)…Posted a 2-8 mark in doubles, going 1-1 in first doubles and 1-7 at second doubles, teaming with Jake Collette-Nippins in every match…Posted a 6-1, 4-6, 13-11 victory at third singles in his first collegiate match, coming against Moravian College (March 10)…Won in straight sets at third singles, 6-2, 6-5, at Penn State-Brandywine (March 24)…Posted a pair of wins at third singles in two matches against Albertus Magnus College on April 8, winning the first match, 6-0, 6-0, and taking an 8-0 victory in the second one…Dropped a marathon match at third singles against Penn State-Abington, also on April 8, by scores of 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 8-10…In doubles play, earned both of his wins April 8 against Albertus Magnus, winning at second doubles (8-1) in the first match and taking a 6-1 decision at first doubles in the shortened second match…Suffered three close losses at second doubles throughout the season, including 6-8 against Brooklyn College (March 18), 7-9 against Penn State-Brandywine (March 24) and 6-8 against Staten Island (April 22).
