Biography

Onkar Singh returns for his third and final season with the Rutgers-Camden men’s tennis program. Over two years, he has posted an 8-19 singles record and a 10-17 doubles mark for an 18-36 overall record.
 
Tennis 2014-15:  Compiled an overall record of 6-14…Went 3-7 at singles (0-2 second singles, 2-1 third singles, 0-2 fourth singles and 1-2 tournament play)…Posted a 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 win against SUNY-Oneonta at the King’s Invitational (Sept.14)…His wins at third singles came against Delaware Valley (Oct. 7, 6-0, 6-0) and Penn State-Brandywine (April 23, 7-5, 6-4)…Went 3-7 at doubles (0-1 first doubles, 2-4 second doubles and 1-2 in tournament action)…His wins at second doubles included an 8-2 victory over Delaware Valley (Oct. 7, teaming with Peter Siv) and an 8-5 triumph over Penn State-Brandywine (April 23, with partner Ryan Christopher).

Tennis 2013-14:  Posted an overall record of 12-22 in his first season with the Scarlet Raptors as a sophomore…Went 5-12 at singles (1-4 at first singles, 4-2 at second singles, 0-2 at third singles and 0-4 in tournament play) and 7-10 at doubles (2-3 at first doubles, 3-6 at second doubles, and 2-1 in tournament doubles)… Named to the All-NEAC First Team at Second Doubles…Captured a marathon win at second singles against Lancaster Bible (April 5) by a 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-3 score…Posted back-to-back wins at second doubles against Bryn Athyn (April 23, 6-0, 6-4) and Cabrini (April 24, 6-2, 6-2)…Posted seven wins out of nine matches in doubles competition, teaming with Drew Delengowski…Captured the NACWest Individual Tournament championship with Delengowski at second doubles, beating Penn State-Abington’s team, 8-6 (April 27).
 
Pre-Rutgers: Attended Gloucester County College, where he played on the men’s tennis team for one season during the 2011-12 scholastic year… Onkar was coached by Brian Rowan (a Rutgers-Camden graduate), the long-time successful tennis head coach with the Roadrunners…Earned Presidents and Dean’s List honors.
 
High School: Onkar was a varsity tennis letterman at Timber Creek High School…Graduated in 2011.
 
Personal: Born January 10, 1993…Nicknamed “Onky”… Named to the Rutgers-Camden’s inaugural Athletic Director’s Honor Roll (Fall 2015)…Member of Rutgers-Camden’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)…Enjoys eating…Accounting and Finance major with a minor in Economics who plans on becoming a CPA…Plans to “motivate, guide and inspire others on how to obtain the keys to success just like DJ Khaled”…Onkar is the son of Harish Singh and Rupinder Kaur.
