Biography

Aidan Ward started his collegiate athletic career as a member of the 2017 Rutgers-Camden cross country program, but he has concentrated on indoor and outdoor track the rest of his career. Ward has been a member of three indoor and outdoor programs with the Scarlet Raptors and would have had four letters in both sports if the 2020 outdoor season and the 2020-21 indoor season hadn’t been cancelled by the pandemic.
 
Academics: Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2021 Spring semester.
 
Outdoor Track 2021: Competed in the long jump at three meets, beginning with the Bill Fritz Invitational (April 17) when he placed 11th of 11 athletes (4.70 meters)…Was 12th of 12 at the Osprey Twilight Meet (April 30) and 14th of 14 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (May 9).

Indoor Track 2019-20: Competed in five meets, participating in four events and setting a PR in three of them…Notched his 200-meter PR (26.55) to finish 69th of 75 at the Fastrack Season Opener (Dec. 6)…Placed 38th of 46 in the long jump (5.25 meters) at the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 25)…Had a long jump of 5.13 meters to place 25th of 30 at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 8), while adding a 1:43.82 time to finish 11th of 13 in the 4x200 relay…Competed in both the 60-meter dash (8.12, 57th of 58) and the long jump (5.06 meters, 32nd of 35) at the Susquehanna Invitational (Feb. 15)…Had a pair of PRs at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Feb. 24), finishing 24th of 27 in the long jump (5.35 meters) and 10th of 10 in the 4x200 (1:41.96).
 
Outdoor Track 2019: Competed in five meets, three times in the triple jump and three times in the long jump…Set a PR in the triple jump (10.92 meters) while finishing 17th of 23 at the Lions Invitational (April 27)…Set his PR in the long jump (5.45 meters) and finished 17th of 21 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (May 4)…Placed 24th of 29 in the long jump (5.03 meters) at the Osprey Open (April 13).
 
Indoor Track 2018-19: Competed in four meets, establishing PR’s in three events…At the TCNJ Open (Dec. 1), finished 59th of 66 at 300 meters (42.79) and ran on the 4x400 that finished 18th of 18 with a PR time of 3:55.40…Notched a PR of 42.53 in the 300-meter dash while finishing 37th of 41 in the Seahawk Shootout (Dec. 7)…Finished 50th of 52 in the 60-meter dash (8.41) and ninth of nine with the 4x200 (a PR of 1:42.24) at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 2)…At the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Feb. 18), finished 24th of 25 in the 60-meter dash (8.15) and 26th of 27 in the 200-meter dash (26.71).
 
Outdoor Track 2018: Participated in three different events in a pair of early-season meets…At the Delaware Classic (March 24), finished 28th of 32 in the 200-meter dash (25.93) and 16th of 16 in the long jump (4.97 meters)…Had his PR mark of 5.07 meters in the long jump to finish 24th of 26 athletes, while also placing 14th of 17 in the triple jump (10.38 meters) at the Stockton Invitational (March 31).
 
Indoor Track 2017-18: Competed in four different events over five indoor meets, including five times in the 60-meter dash…Made indoor debut at the TCNJ Winter Opener (Dec. 2), finishing 30th of 31 in the 60-meter dash (8.27)…At the Fast Times Before Finals meet (Dec. 9), placed 41st of 44 at 60 meters (8.33) and 58th of 61 at 200 meters (27.52)…Posted an 8.41 clocking at 60 meters to finish 61st of 63 at the Gotham Cup (Jan. 19)…Set PR’s at 400 meters (1:00.01, 47th of 53) and the triple jump (9.93 meters, 14th of 14), while also running the 60-meter dash (8.29, 60th of 64) during a busy day at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 3)…Notched a pair of PR times at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 19), placing 16th of 18 at 60 meters (8.07) and 18th of 20 at 200 meters (26.57).
 
Cross Country 2017: Ran in one fall race, making his collegiate debut in the Wilmington Invitational (Sept. 2)…Posted an 8K time of 51:38.62 to finish fifth on the Scarlet Raptors and 29th of 30 overall.
 
High School: Graduated from Gloucester Catholic High School in 2017…Track letterman for Coach Rob Fearone.
 
Personal: Born February 3, 1999…Hobbies include snowboarding and running…Brother Sean also is a member of the Raptors’ track programs…Childhood Studies major who plans to become a pre-school teacher…Aidan is the son of Lizann and Patrick Ward of Gloucester City.
