Akai Bortey joined the Rutgers-Camden track program for the outdoor season.
 
Outdoor Track 2023: Ran in five meets, including five on the 4x100 relay team and two in the 200-meter dash…Made his debut at the Stockton Invitational (March 25), helping the 4x100 team finish sixth of eight teams (52.00)…At the Danny Curran Invitational (April 1), finished 97th of 107 at 200 meters (26.40) and was on the 4x100 team that finished 11th of 11 (51.39)…Established his PR with the 4x100 team (42.93) as it finished 11th of 13 at the Osprey Open (April 8)…Set his 200-meter PR (26.38), finishing 69th of 78, and also finished sixth of eight with the 4x100 team (49.49) at the Lions Invitational (April 29).
