Biography
Alisha Singleton painted her name all over the Rutgers-Camden indoor track record book in her first season with the program during the 2016-17 winter. Singleton notched a pair of individual program records and competed on three record-setting relay teams. She also was named the school’s Raptor of the Week on February 27 and finished her career being named the Most Valuable Track athlete on the women’s indoor/outdoor track and field program.

Singleton also earned a berth on the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the Fall 2016 semester.

In her final semester before graduation, Singleton will join the outdoor track program during the spring.

Indoor Track 2016-17: Competed in six meets in numerous events, including the 60, 200 and 400-meter dashes, the 60-meter hurdles, the 1600 Sprint Medley and the 4x160 and 4x200 relays…Named Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week February 27 after a stellar performance at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships …Set program individual records in the 60-meter dash (8.21) and the 60-meter hurdles (9.44) at the NJAC meet (Feb. 20) and also ran a leg on the record-setting 4x200 team (1:55.80) at the conference meet…Helped the Raptors set a program record in the 1600 Sprint Medley (4:47.52) at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout (Dec. 9)…Anchored the program-record 4x160 relay team (1:32.67) at the Widener Field Meet (Jan. 27)…In her first collegiate meet for the Raptors, finished seventh of 26 in the 200-meter dash (29.13) and eighth of 23 in the 400-meter dash (1:07.75) at the Bow-Tie Classic (Dec. 3)…In addition to her sprint medley program mark at the Wagner Shootout, finished ninth of 17 in the 60-meter hurdles (10.01)…At the Gotham Cup (Jan. 20), set a short-lived program mark in the 60 hurdles (9.72, which she broke at the NJAC meet) while finishing 27th of 45, and also placed 58th of 66 in the 200-meter dash (28.41)…Helped her team finish first of three with the program record in the 4x160 relay, while also placing third of 14 in the 200-meter dash (29.34) and fifth of eight in the 400-meter dash (1:10.38) at the Widener Field Meet (Jan. 27)…Competed in four events, including the program-record 4x200 relay, at the St. Joseph’s Invitational (Feb. 11), finishing 28th of 55 in the 60-meter dash (8.55), 10th of 26 in the 60-meter hurdles (9.84) and 40th of 82 in the 200-meter dash (28.54)…At the NJAC meet (Feb. 20), placed 10th of 21 in the 60-meter dash (8.21), seventh of 18 in the 60-meter hurdle qualifying round (9.44), 19th of 26 in the 200-meter dash (28.12) and sixth of six in the 4x200 (1:55.80), all with personal best times…All but the 200-meter time set a program mark…In the 60-meter hurdle final, later that day, finished eighth with a 9.61 clocking.

High School: Graduate of Sterling High School in 2013…Captured three varsity letters in track for Coach Jeff McIlvaine…Earned All-Conference First Team honors as a junior and a senior…National Honor Society…Honor Roll student.

Personal: Born June 29, 1995…Social Work major with a minor in Criminal Justice…Plans to obtain her MSW and find a job as a Social Worker…Alisha is the daughter of Tim and Renita Singleton of Somerdale.
