Biography
A two-year Rutgers-Camden letterman who played his first collegiate season LaSalle University, Cristian Ognibene also has run with the Scarlet Raptors’ track program. He has earned numerous academic honors during his time on campus and also has worked with the Rutgers-Camden training staff.
Ognibene, who enters his final season of collegiate soccer eligibility, has appeared in 39 games at Rutgers-Camden, collecting three goals and three assists for nine points. He notched his first collegiate game-winning goal during the 2018 season.
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 scholastic years; Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2017 Fall, 2018 Spring and 2018 Fall semesters.
Outdoor Track 2019: Competed in one outdoor meet, posting a time of 12.66 to finish 12th of 16 in the 100-meter dash at the Stockton Invitational (March 23).
Soccer 2018: Played in 21 games, starting two…Notched one goal (a game winner) and two assists for four points…Had seven shots…Made his first start at Cabrini (Sept. 12), playing 44 minutes in a 1-0 loss…Had an assist on Skyler Diggs’ game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory at Penn State-Abington (Oct. 4)…Scored the lone goal of the game at 39:46 to post a 1-0 win at Stockton (Oct. 24) and record his first career game-winning goal…Started and collected an assist in a 2-0 victory over Hood (Nov. 10) in the ECAC tournament, while playing his season high of 61 minutes.
Soccer 2017: Played in 18 games…Notched two goals and one assist for five points…Had seven shots, three on goal for a .429 percentage…Made his Rutgers-Camden debut in the Raptors’ season-opening 2-0 loss against Lycoming College (Sept. 1)…One day later, notched his first Raptor point, assisting a goal by Skyler Diggs during a 6-2 win over Keystone College (Sept. 2)…Scored two goals for four points in a 5-1 win over New Jersey City University (Oct. 7)…Played his season high of 39 minutes in a 2-1 win over Swarthmore College (Oct. 16).
Pre-Rutgers: Played two games at LaSalle University in 2016…Saw action against Rider (Sept. 2) and Manhattan (Sept. 11).
High School: Four-year varsity soccer letterman at Cherokee High School for Coach Glenn Thomson…Added two track letters for the Chiefs…Numerous soccer honors include First Team All-Olympic Conference…First Team Burlington County…Added Honorable Mention All-South Jersey and Honorable Mention All-State…Notched 20 goals and nine assists as a senior, earning team MVP honors…Honor roll student all four years…Graduated in 2016.

Personal: Born September 1, 1998…Last name pronounced “O-KNEE-ben-e”…Enjoys going to the beach, spending time with his family and helping out others…Health Sciences major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to attend graduate school to become a physician’s assistant…Cristian is the son of Anna Maria and Joseph Ognibene of Marlton.
