Rutgers-Camden Athletics

Sprinter Jaquan Ortiz joined the Rutgers-Camden outdoor track program for the 2023 outdoor season and ran with the indoor team during the 2023-24 winter. A junior academically, he has sophomore athletic eligibility.
 
Indoor Track 2023-24: Competed in a pair of indoor meets in December…Posted three PRs at the FastTrack Opener (Dec. 1), finishing 30th of 31 in the 60-meter dash (8.30), 45th of 46 in the long jump (5.14 meters) and 18th of 18 with the 4x400 team (3:47.19)…Added two more PRs at the Bow-Tie Invitational (Dec. 8) by finishing 54th of 61 in the 200-meter dash (27.40) and 23rd of 26 at 400 meters (1:06.13)…Also finished 35th of 39 in the unseeded 60-meter dash (8.31) and 14th of 14 with the 4x400 relay team (4:21.91) at the Bow-Tie meet.
 
Outdoor Track 2023: Competed in six different events over four meets, mainly running at 200 meters (four times)…Also ran 100, 400 meters and with the 4x100-meter relay team (twice each), while competing once in the long jump (fouled) and the 4x400 (3:50.16, with the team placing ninth of nine at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships May 7)…Ran his top 100-meter time of 12.76 at the Osprey Open (April 8), while finishing 45th of 59…Also was 48th of 55 at 200 meters (27.30) at the Osprey Open…At the Widener Invitational (April 22), ran at 200 meters (83rd of 93, 26.24) and set PRs in the 400-meter dash (58.49, 66th of 73) and the 4x100 (47.71, 12th of 12)…Ran the 100-meter dash (12.85, 49th of 62), the 200-meter dash (26.51, 70th of 78) and the 4x100 49.49, sixth of eight) at the Lions Invitational (April 29)…On the first day of the NJAC Championships (May 6), set a PR at 200 meters (25.90, 29th of 32), competed in his long jump and ran at 400 meters (59.71, 28th of 29).
