Biography

Jose Osorio competed with both the cross country and indoor track programs during his first year at Rutgers-Camden, while also earning academic honors.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2019-20 scholastic year…Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2019 Fall and 2020 Spring semesters…Dean’s List student.
 
Outdoor Track 2020: Season cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Indoor Track 2019-20: Competed in five events over three meets to set five PR times…Opened his winter season at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout (Dec. 13), finishing 26th of 28 at 600 meters (1:40.41) and 10th of 12 with the sprint medley team (4:00.66)…Placed 53rd of 56 at 800 meters (2:34.65) at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 8)…At the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Feb. 24), finished 10th of 10 with the 4x200 team (1:41.96) and ninth of 10 with the 4x400 team (3:54.72).
 
Cross Country 2019: Ran in six invitationals, including the season-opening 5K Bryn Mawr Invitational (Aug. 30) and five 8K events…At the Bryn Mawr event, finished third on the Raptors and 50th of 107 with a 5K PR of 20:15.73…In his first 8K race, the Osprey Open (Sept. 21), posted a 31:40.47 clocking while finishing fourth on the team and 140th of 210 overall…Was fourth on the Raptors and 15th of 37 overall (32:39.0) at the Dan Talbot Open (Sept. 27)…Placed seventh on the team and 111th of 162 overall (34:36.5) at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial meet (Oct. 12)…Finished sixth on the team and 251st of 256 overall (32:21.4) at the Inter-Regional Border Battle (Oct. 19)…Closed season at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Nov. 2), running an 8K PR (31:03.3) while finishing sixth on the Raptors and 88th of 105 overall.
 
Pre-Rutgers: Attended Stockton University for two semesters…Competed with the Osprey’s outdoor track team in 2018 in sprints and jumps.
 
High School: Graduated from Bridgeton High School in 2017.
 
Personal: Born August 2, 1999…Nicknamed “Oso”…Hobbies and interests include freelance photography and video, fixing cars, hanging out with friends and running with his team…Pre-Business (Marketing) major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to establish a marketing agency for commercials and promotions…Jose is the son of Refugia Perez of Bridgeton.
