Rutgers-Camden Athletics

A transfer from Cumberland County College, Ki-Jana Shockley joined the Rutgers-Camden indoor track program midway through the 2015-16 season and added another collegiate letter during outdoor season. After earning her second indoor track letter at Rutgers-Camden, she will return to the outdoor program this spring.
 
Indoor Track 2016-17: Competed in the shot put in six meets and also added three competitions in the weight throw…Had her best day at the Widener Field Meet (Jan. 27) when she set personal bests in both events, finishing fourth of 19 in the shot put (10.75 meters) and 12th of 15 in the weight throw (8.87 meters)…Opened the season at the Bow-Tie Classic (Dec. 3) by placing eighth of 27 in the shot put (9.96 meters)…Six days later, finished 16th of 37 in the shot (9.83 meters) at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout…Had a shot put of 9.59 meters to place 34th of 53 at the Gotham Cup (Jan. 20)…Placed 12th of 46 in the shot (10.07 meters) and 27th of 31 in the weight throw (7.24 meters) at the St. Joseph’s College Invitational (Feb. 11)…At the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship (Feb. 20), finished 10th of 19 in the shot put (9.71 meters) and 15th of 17 in the weight throw (8.37 meters).
 
Outdoor Track 2016: Competed in six meets, throwing the discus and the shot put five times apiece…Established her personal best in the discus at her first outdoor meet, throwing 30.39 meters to place seventh of 29 competitors at the Stockton Invitational (March 26), while also finishing 10th of 24 in the shot put (9.96 meters)…Had a personal best of 10.39 meters in the shot put at the Oscar Moore Open (April 1), finishing fifth of 14 athletes…Competed in both events at the Osprey Open (April 9), placing 11th of 28 in the shot put (8.99 meters) and sixth of 27 in the discus (29.53 meters)…Threw the discus at both the Greyhound Invitational (April 16) and the Widener Invitational (April 22), placing 31st of 44 (27.57 meters) and 14th of 29 (29.98 meters), respectively…At the second day of the Widener Invitational (April 23), placed 28th of 46 in the shot put (8.75 meters)…Competed in both events at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship (May 8), collecting one point for the Rutgers-Camden women by finishing eighth of 14 in the shot put (10.30 meters) and adding a 14th-place finish out of 17 athletes in the discus (26.44 meters).
 
Indoor Track 2015-16: Competed in three meets in the shot put, making her collegiate debut at the Ramapo College Indoor Select (Jan. 30) by finishing 17th of 31 with a put of 9.23 meters/30-3.50…Placed 12th of 26 (9.24 M/30-3.75) at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 6)…Had her best shot put at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship (Feb. 22), finishing 11th of 16 (9.67 M/31-8.75).
 
Pre-Rutgers: Attended Cumberland County College during the fall 2015 semester.
 
High School: Multi-sport letterwinner at Millville High School…Captured three varsity letters in track and field…Also added two letters apiece in field hockey and basketball…Graduated in 2015.
