Biography
Lajerah Wright started her freshman year in college as a member of the women’s basketball program and will complete her year with the outdoor track program.
Basketball 2016-17: Played in six games, averaging 3.2 points and 1.0 rebounds…Added three assists and two steals…Made her collegiate debut Nov. 30 against Rowan University, scoring two points (shooting 1-for-2 from the floor) and grabbing two rebounds…Notched her first collegiate assist against King’s College (Dec. 1), while adding two points on 2-for-2 shooting from the foul line…Notched two points and two rebounds apiece against New Jersey City University (Dec. 3) and Stockton University (Dec. 7), while adding an assist against NJCU…Scored a career-high 11 points (4-for-8 from the floor, 3-for-3 from the foul line) against Baruch College (Dec. 12), adding one assist and her first two collegiate steals.
High School: Four-year basketball letterwinner at Atlantic City High School for Coach Jason Lantz…As a senior, named the Boo Williams Cape-Atlantic League Most Improved Player…First Team Atlantic City Press…Cape-Atlantic League First Team…Team MVP and leading scorer at Atlantic City High School…Graduated in 2016.
Personal: Born February 13, 1998…Enjoys spending quality time with family and playing video games…Psychology major at Rutgers-Camden…Post-graduation plan is to do “something I love, like helping people”…Lajerah is the daughter of Lavonda Wright of Atlantic City.
