Biography
Maxwell Adams earned his first collegiate letter as one of the cornerstones of the Rutgers-Camden men’s cross country team during the 2018 fall season. After a year away from the Rutgers-Camden athletic programs, Adams returned during the 2019-20 winter season to earn his first letter with the indoor track team.
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2019-20 scholastic year…Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll 2018 Fall, 2019 Spring, 2019 Fall and 2020 Spring semesters…Dean’s List during the 2018 Fall, 2019 Fall and 2020 Spring semesters.
Outdoor Track 2020: Season cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Indoor Track 2019-20: Competed in seven indoor meets, running the 400-meter dash (twice), the 800 meters (three times), the mile (once), the 4x200 (once), the 4x400 (once) and the 4x800 (four times)…Opened the indoor campaign Dec. 6 at the Fastrack Season Opener, running the 400 meters (43rd of 55, 55.74) and the 4x800 (fifth of seven, 8:56.48)…At the Dutchmen Invitational on Jan. 17, finished sixth of 14 with a PR of 5:05.66 in the mile…Posted a time of 2:07.00 at 800 meters (15th of 52) at the Collegeville Classic (Jan. 25)…Set PRs at both 400 meters (55:42, 28th of 64) and with the 4x800 relay team (8:35.37, fifth of 13) at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 8)…Placed 17th of 44 at 800 meters (2:06.36) and third of 16 with the 4x400 team (a PR of 3:36.62) at the Susquehanna Invitational (Feb. 15)…Placed 13th of 24 at 800 meters (a PR of 2:04.84) and seventh of nine with the 4x800 team (8:40.15) at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Feb. 24)…Competed on both days of the ECAC Championships (March 6-7), while setting a pair of PR times in relays: finished fourth of six in the 4x200 (1:37.70) on the first day and broke his month-old PR in the 4x800 with a time of 8:23.44 to place second of five.
Cross Country 2018: Ran in all eight invitationals during the season, finishing second on the Rutgers-Camden team each time…Made his collegiate debut at the 5K Bryn Mawr Invitational (Aug. 31), placing 22nd out of 103 runners (18:29.8)…Finished 48th of 135 runners (30:56.9) at his first of seven 8K invitationals, the Philadelphia Metropolitan race on Sept. 8…Placed 20th of 47 at the Delaware Invitational (Sept. 15) in a time of 31:05.7…Finished 28th of 112 at the Osprey Open (Sept. 22) with a 29:14.94 clocking…Ran an 8K time of 29:28 at the Paul Short Run (Sept. 29) to place 149th of 292 athletes…Notched his 8K PR of 29:09.2 and finished 325th of 400 at the Inter-Regional Border Battle (Oct. 13)…Finished 58th of 110 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships (Oct. 27) in a time of 29:17.85…Posted a 30:06.0 time to place 200th of 307 at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals (Nov. 10).
High School: Graduated from Cinnaminson High School in 2018.
