A veteran on both the indoor and outdoor track teams, Michelle Impoco returns for her third spring season as a thrower for the Scarlet Raptors after completing her third year with the indoor program over the winter.
Impoco also earned a berth on the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the Spring 2016 semester.
Indoor 2016-17: Competed in four indoor meets in the weight throw…Notched a personal best throw of 10.90 meters at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout (Dec. 9), finishing 10th of 18…Placed 27th of 36 with a throw of 10.39 meters at the Gotham Cup (Jan. 20)…Finished 11th of 15 in the weight throw (8.94 meters) at the Widener Field Meet (Jan. 27)…Closed her season at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships (Feb. 20), placing 13th of 17 with a weight throw of 9.60 meters.
Outdoor Track 2016: Competed in six meets during the outdoor season, throwing the discus and hammer four times apiece…Set personal bests in both events, including a hammer throw of 32.56 meters at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships (May 7), finishing seventh of 16 athletes to account for two of the Raptors’ points…The next day at the NJAC meet, finished 12th of 17 in the discus (27.78 meters)…Set her personal best in the discus (31.35 meters) at the season-opening Stockton Invitational (March 26) while finishing fourth of 29 athletes…Placed ninth of 14 in the hammer (26.03 meters) at the Oscar Moore Open (April 1) and 14th of 17 in the hammer (26.53 meters) at the Osprey Open (April 8)…Finished 44th of 44 in the discus (24.51 meters) at the Greyhound Invitational (April 16)…At the two-day Widener Invitational (April 22-23), placed 24th of 29 in the discus (26.78 meters) on the opening day and 25th of 25 in the hammer (27.71 meters) the next day.
Indoor Track 2015-16: Competed in five meets, participating in the weight throw four times and the shot put three times…Participated in both events at the Golden Bear Invitational (Jan. 15), with a shot put of 7.56 meters/24-9.75 to finish 20th of 21 and a weight throw of 8.80 meters/28-10.50 (11th of 11)…Also had a shot put of 7.77 meters/25-6.0 (12th of 17) and a weight throw of 9.87 meters/32-4.75 (eighth of 15) at the Albright Invitational (Feb. 13)…Set a personal best of 10.45 meters/34-3.50 to finish 17th of 29 in the weight throw at the Ramapo College Indoor Select (Jan. 30)…Had her top shot put of 8.15 meters/26-9.0 to place 26th of 37 at the Bow Tie Classic (Dec. 5)…Placed 12th of 19 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 22) with a weight throw of 9.91 meters/32-6.25.
Outdoor Track 2015: Competed in four meets, throwing the hammer and discus three times apiece…Placed 26th of 36 in the hammer (25.49 M/83-7) at the Danny Curran Invitational (March 28)…Finished eighth of 21 in the discus (27.344 M/89-8) at the Osprey Open (April 4), where she also attempted her first javelin throw, but fouled…Established personal bests in both the discus (27.61 M/90-7) and hammer (27.68 M/90-10) in the two-day Widener Invitational (April 17-18), placing 17th of 24 in the discus and 15th of 22 in the hammer…Also competed in both events on back-to-back days at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship (May 2-3), finishing 15th of 18 in the hammer (24.94 M/81-10) and 14th of 17 in the discus (26.55 M/87-1).
Indoor Track 2014-15: Honored as the Most Dedicated athlete for the indoor track team after her first season of collegiate competition…Competed in the shot put at six meets, while adding the weight throw at three of those outings…In her collegiate debut, the Bow Tie Classic (Dec. 6), had a shot put of 7.75 meters (25-5.25) to finish 27th of 37…A week later at the MAC Classic (Dec. 14), finished fifth of six in the shot with a put of 7.99 meters (26-2.75)…Set her personal best in the shot put (8.85 M/29-0.50) to finish 28th of 38 at the St. Joseph’s Invitational (Jan. 17)…Also participated in the weight throw for the first time, finishing 21st of 24 (8.33 M/27-4.0)…Placed 20th of 24 in the shot put with a distance of 7.89 meters (25-10.75) at the Frank Colden Invitational (Feb. 7)…Was 11th of 17 in the shot put (7.79 M/25-6.75) and eighth of eight in the weight throw (8.38 M/27-6) at the Albright Invitational (Feb. 14)…Closed her freshman indoor season at the …New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship (Feb. 26), placing 23rd of 24 in the shot put (8.85 M/29-0.50) to tie her personal best, while also finishing 15th of 23 in the weight throw (9.23 M/30-3.0).
High School: Earned four varsity letters in indoor and outdoor track at Highland Regional High School for Tartans Coach Tom Ajderian…Captured the girls spring track Commitment Award and the Pepsi-Cola Unsung Athlete Award…Earned the President’s Silver Academic Award.
